Les 3 Terroir Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay

Pale straw lemon color with frothy mousse and lively bead of bubbles, long lees aging. A nose of fresh fruit with yeast, nutty notes and floral scents. On the palate flavors of peach and citrus flavors with biscuit tones. Nice balance with acidity, delicate textures, medium+ finish ending creamy with toasty oak and chalky mineral character. Pair this with shrimp cocktail. — a year ago

Expression D'Un Terroir Oger Grand Cru Brut Champagne

Light straw; smokey nose that suggests an impactful palate to follow; this is very mineral and masculine somehow. The chalky minerality is all I remember, that, and today this upstaged the 2015 Special Club. Base is 2019.

Like a beautiful piece of butter cake. Briochey yet super bright and fresh. Even better after a few days.

After a few days! That is pretty cool that it lasts that long.

@Manny Abascal As long as you pour carefully and get a stopper in the bottles quickly I’ve found the best champagne usually lasts and improves for days or even weeks in the fridge! I sometimes use it as a proxy for storage potential similar to other wines.

Interesting! I am going to try that. I usually put a stopper in at the end of the evening after it has been sitting out a while. A few still do ok but most don’t. I’m moving to your method. Thanks for the tip!

Belemnita Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne 2009

So many bubbles! Really impressive. Very complex. Cream, brioche, citrus, good amount of saline, herbal honey, honeysuckle. So well integrated at this moment. Better with 3 hours of air and closer to room temperature. Long finish with lemons, almonds, tangerine, bit of grass. Definitely one of the best champagnes I’ve had. — a year ago

Fleuron Brut 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs

Dec 11, 2021 Saturday dinner w/ Jack D celebrating J2’s good news. This champagne was such a lovely surprise. Bright, crisp, citrus. Lots of complexity, and lots of fine bubbles. Good with food or alone. Wish I had more. First bottle purchase. — 4 years ago

Delicious. Happy 248th birthday America & all Delectable users.

Nice, soft mousse, slightly rich, gentle co2, green apple, lemon meringue, lime zest, tropical melons, both white stone fruits, kiwi, underripe pineapple juice, vanillin, some minty & dry herbs notes, semi-moist chalk power, alluvial limestone, sea spray, soft white spice, bread dough, light yeastiness, yellow florals & lilies, jasmine with fairly heavy greens, nice, round, soft acidity and a well balanced, structured, tensioned and smartly polished finish that last ninety seconds.
