Easy. Smells okay. But it's not. Smooth. Dark fruit — 8 years ago
Excellent red Burgundy. Earthy classical burg nose and hay and fruit with good balance on palate annex medium finish. Went well with duck. Gerhard Revere dinner 8/21/26. — 8 years ago
From a time when oak use was a bit more prominent here, the nose is complex but not that Blaufränkisch - oak, spice, earth and blackberries. Palate is clean, lots of fruit, silky flow, oak creaminess but with a little more of the fresh blue and black fruit and a crack of pepper. Pretty long, too. Nicely composed. — 8 years ago
This thing really is a topaz brown! The hoary head is bone, and the lacing sporadically amphibian. Automatically, somewhere between a cookie and a muffin. Toffee, dark wheat bread, prominent hops that are of a citrus nature, hemp seed brownies, grape leaves with brown rice. Perfect textural integration upon entry into a caramelly-rye core that influences throughout. There is lemongrass, candied lemon, sweet-ish grapefruit, wild dagga, a stippled licorice, resinous raindrops, spattered cola. Sigmar Polke and Roy Lichternstein's ghosts may have collaborated with a young Gerhard Richter on this one. Call a doctor if spots persist for more than four hours! #hopheads #sweetwater #georgia — 9 years ago
Nice and balanced. Nice apple and a bit of strawberry and pear at the start, and lingers for a bit. — 9 years ago
Nice structure and balance elegant Austrian Dry Red — 9 years ago
A fav from LAFW showed up in our blind tasting today. Gerhard Kracher is a fun guy & the wines are world class. The 2012 Grüner showed very nicely back in LA too. — 10 years ago
Wonderful Austrian! Fine tannins and very good acidity with saddle leather on the nose and red currants and cherries on the palate. Imported by Peter Weygandt. — 11 years ago
Lots of stable on opening, but both black and red fruit aromas quickly take over together with some oriental spices. Medium bodied and juicy with a well balanced acidity and decent length. — 7 years ago
So complex and earthy and surprising. — 7 years ago
Stone fruits and minerality on nose. Bracing acids balanced by good structure and lengthy finish. Good foods wine. Gerhard Revere dinner 8/21/16. — 8 years ago
Takes red burg to next level. More complex on nose and palate with great balance. More years to go but probably closer to that fruit and secondary flavors peak. Gerhard Revere dinner 8/21/26. — 8 years ago
Love love love this wine. Made by Gerhard Kraacher. Haven't had it since New York, so plsed to finally find it in CA. Orange chiffon, tiaré, which I think means frangipani, sandy sun-blasted air, and marzipan. Stellar with southern Indian food. Get some. — 9 years ago
Paired with grilled lamb and good friends. Fantastic. Everything Gerhard touches is outstanding. — 9 years ago
Bright full bodied Riesling, quince, pear, nectarine, lemon zest. Well balanced, smooth finish. Simply delightful — 9 years ago

Thought by RC to be dead but really excellent. Probably fruit forward in youth but now nicely resolved and full of earthy secondary notes of dark fruits and minerals and earth. Long finish and fragrant nose of ripe fruits. Gerhard Revere dinner 8/21/26. — 8 years ago
full power on every level.
sometimes you can appreciate that, though... — 8 years ago

Like a California Bordeaux blend. Nice fruit and structure and great finish. My first Austrian wine. — 9 years ago
AvH. Mycket bra för att vara rosé. Drack parallellt med M de Minuty till shogayaki. Pittnauer mycket godare, mer ett riktigt vin. — 9 years ago
Subtle spices and sweet finish would make it a perfect match with duck. — 9 years ago
2013er Jahrgang.
Schmeckt eher süß. Als Tafelwein aber sehr zu empfehlen! — 9 years ago
Surprisingly good Austrian Pinot. Recommended by my local offey. Felt very slightly Asti to drink, reminiscent of Barbera. — 11 years ago

Austrian Pinot Noir coming a long way. Lush red fruit supported by good acid. Plush, and you might not think it was Austrian if tasted blind. There is some oak there, needs time to open. — 7 years ago
