Medium ruby color, very classic grenache appearance. Medium intensity, developing aromas of strawberry, strawberry jam, leather, toast, vanilla, geranium and violet. Dry with medium acidity, medium tannin, high alcohol, full-bodied; medium (+) intensity flavors of clove, leather, strawberry, red plum, cedar, graphite and lead pencil. Long finish and outstanding quality. Already approachable, you can drink this now but it certainly has potential for further aging. — 6 years ago
This is the first of 6 that I bought on release. Initially not giving much on the nose after a time in the decanter. After an hour aromas of cedar and Geranium - some mint. On the palate denser than usual and more monolithic. A long way from full potential - lacking in complexity. Maybe time will deliver that. Next in 3 years. Finishes with a little astringency. — 7 years ago
Located themselves on an apple orchard-turned vineyard just west of the Anderson Valley on the Mendocino Ridge, Jason and Molly Drew craft some of the most transcendent Pinot Noirs in the county. Their Morning Dew Ranch is nothing short of utterly magnificent. Elegant and silky, yet structured, it sings of rose geranium, salt and pepper, lavender, rosemary, and smoked cherry pit. The site's name itself is so evocative, and drinking this wine feels like swallowing the fog. — 7 years ago
The Aglianico grape from the Montefredane district in Campania Italy. Overpowering aromas of the Geranium flower together with stalky nettle and vegetal notes. The nose makes this Wine unique. Barely medium bodied on the earthy palate with medium tannins and finish. Great QPR at only $23AUD. — 8 years ago
Consistent notes as 3 previous tastings over 66 weeks. Mid to dark Ruby in colour. Lovely perfume of mature Cabernet with Geranium, mint and berries. Just a medium weight palate (but good intensity) from a cooler climate in the Coal River Tasmania. Beautifully made and drinking at its peak. My last one of 6. It’s a struggle sometimes in Tasmania to ripen Cabernet grapes sufficiently but Domaine A nearly always shows well. — 5 years ago
Herbal aromas (typically Margaret River) with Geranium Capsicum and a touch of menthol. Some green notes - medium weight. Savoury wins out over Cassis and black fruits. Not in the upper echelon of Margaret River Cabernet. Just a silver medal. We went to the Cellar Door some years ago and the story goes that the Reserve Cab was served at the wedding of Prince Frederick of Denmark to Sydney Real Estate agent Mary Donaldson originally from Tasmania now Crown Princess Mary and one day will become the Queen of Denmark. Fred is a keen sailor who was representing Denmark at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and they met at Sydney hotspot The Slip Inn where Fred was flashing his Black AMEX so the story goes and was captivated by Mary and the rest is history. — 6 years ago
This fairly pale ruby, tart red fruit little number struts some raspberry and cherry charm. Next it unfolds with fresh earth, tobacco and a bit of smoky cardamom spice. Fine-grained yet lightly tactile tannins, medium acidity, and barely medium body. After 10 mins, fresh rose and geranium. Well balanced, drinkable, good quality with a tart fruit, drying tannic finish. — 7 years ago
An Aglianico from Campania. Mouldy Savoury raspberries with aromas of barnyard and stable manure. Intensely savoury. My notes do not do justice to this Central Italian Red. In summary I very much liked it. Tasted again 9 weeks later. Notes as above but seems more highly savoury with notes of wet nappy and geranium. Don’t get me wrong but highly recommended. — 7 years ago
Geranium in Copenhagen with family in June 2017 — 8 years ago
As per previous notes. Dense crimson in colour. Cedar, blackberry and geranium. To borrow HH’s phrase “effortless style”. Demonstrates why Coonawarra’s red dirt is marvellous for Cabernet. 96% Cabernet 4% Petit Verdot. The Tally is the top Cuvée from Balnaves. Rich, medium to full bodied. — 5 years ago
Colour of mid Lemon with green tinges. Aromas of mouldy Apple with dust and honey. My wife noted Geranium and cut grass (and generally loved the wine). Perfectly judged oak influence which doesn’t intrude. The next day after use of VacuVin different aromas of grapefruit and honeysuckle. Really must drink more White Bordeaux. Had another bottle 13 weeks later on 18th August 2019 with consistent notes. Slippery mouth feel. Minimal oak influence. Great wine with oysters. — 6 years ago
An improved showing on my last notes in January 2016. Surprisingly a youthful purple tinge for 11 years of age. Unmistakably Cabernet. Very leafy with geranium notes - almost intoxicating. More herbal capsicum type flavours than fruit driven. That astringent note of 2 1/2 years ago has gone. Langhorne Creek is an under rated area. — 7 years ago
Completely unique, this is light-bodied, fruity and intensely floral, flowing from the glass with cherry blossom, geranium, candied raspberry, sugared rose petal. — 7 years ago
Weird & wild. Geranium, fennel, savory, acetic. — 8 years ago

See notes from 124 weeks ago still apply. Notes of mulberry, black currant - a little heavy on the oak but not off putting. Geranium, stalky, peppery, and bay leaf. Medium bodied still with good freshness for 12 years old. Fine grained tannins to finish. In the dress circle of Wilyabrup in Margaret River. Will compare with Woodlands 2nd ranked cuvée from 2010 next. — 5 years ago
