An hour or so in the glass and there's loads of smoke, black fruit and a green pepper/geranium type floral element edging freshly cut mushroom. Masculine but with a rose petal softness coming through on the nose. The palate is less expressive and seems to lack in intensity when compared to the impressive nose, a lovely freshness to the lightweight red fruit dominated finish which is fresh but again lacks impact.

A bit of Maume funk; shoe polish, cherry and ripe plum. Tart with pleasant mouthfeel, but lacking some depth and complexity. Extra time in the bottle didn’t help it show.

Mushroom and sous-bois. The nose comes on strong and fades a bit. The palate starts blended and subtle, and creeps toward savory as it opens. Outstanding.

Interesting! Mushrooms, forest, tobacco, a bot of spice and zesty dried dill. Very loght bodied, almost watery mouth. Mild tannins and no acid to give it a little punch.
