Unreal nose. So complex and clean. Apricot, cherry, white cherry, gorgeous mineral. Even some slate. Vulcanized rubber. Gorgeous purity and precision. Palate is just so good. Icing on a cake. Complex and acidic with terrific density but so so elegant. Terrific structure. Very pure and so much material. Sweet but also a hint of savory. Long. Sappy and so so long. Great wine. Terrific wine. Even split of Cabernet/Cabernet Franc.

Soooo reticent. We enjoyed this over three days, not because we wanted to but because we HAD to. If you are looking for immediate gratification, this wine AIN'T it. You enjoy this wine for the bright future ahead of it, and the wonderful family behind it.

Do yourself a favor and drink the Tanbark Hill while listening to a podcast where the Genius Mr. Togni explains his adventures in wine. A filet mignon and fingerling potatoes wouldn't be a bad idea either. Bordeaux class, California sunshine! — 9 years ago

Excellent grenache from Manfred at SQN...but not etherial. As I'm writing that I realize that this is still awesome - just that Manfred sets the bar absurdly high. Blackberries, kirsch, and a hint of licorice on the nose. Very full mouthfeel with lots of glycerin. The wine is a lot more evolved than I was expecting - possibly a consequence of a warm vintage? - so I'm not sure how many more years of evolution this has left (then again, this is my last bottle of this, so whateves!). Dave Phinney is a genius! Orin Swift Cellars Palermo 2015 cabernet sauvignon is FANTASTIC! Blackberry spice and everything nice. A tingle on the tongue and a bouquet of fun. What more could you ask for. Theres an oaky finish and a chocolate after taste that leaves your palate hungry for more!!!!!! Almost as good as his Papillon, which gets a perfect 10! It is a 70 dollar blend!! My personal favorite wine right now. Look up Orin Swift Cellars!!!!! Unfortunately they do not deliver to georgia but I have a good liquor store in town that gets it for me. — 8 years ago

Maybe my favorite vintage of this wine. Sexy nose. Herbal, vegetable in the way Silvaner can only do it (sweet sugarsnap peas and the such) with intense minerality. So refined. I mean so refined. Ask floral. Just a symphony of Silvaner. Palate is pure magic. Juicy and OMG this is so refined and elegant. And man is this deep. This is a wine that has to be tasted to be believed to see what a genius Paul is and how great Silvaner can be. — 9 years ago
