Flint like scent. Water like. Fresh, mineral salty, lemon and green apple. 3 min later, feel rich. Good match with seafood and Japanese seafood food as well. Gentilini Robola of Cephalonia Wild Paths 19 @3700, Academy D JH, 240127-240203 — 4 months ago

Nykteri is a special style of Santorini Assyrtiko harvested at night. It is made more concentrated than your average Santorini Assyrtiko. Golden colour with dried spice, lemons, bruised apple, nuts, sea salt, ash with an insanely fresh finish. Assyrtiko in general reminds me of Riesling. This example feels rather Burgundian. Great stuff. — 7 months ago
High elevation Nemea Agiorgitiko. Dark ruby/black color. Aromas and flavors of ripe dark cherries, cooked plums and spicy oak. Touch of vanilla on the very long finish. Very rich, plush and well structured. Nicely balanced with Medium-plus body. The bottle age has softened the tannins nicely. Solid. — 4 months ago

[Tasted on January 31, 2024 at Home with Rachel]
Purchased during visit to the winery on Santorini in August 2019 with Michael and Rachel. Mavrotragano grape is indigenous to Santorini. Black grape with similar profile to Nebbiolo. Red currant, spice, some tar. Smoke? Fruity, nice tannins. — 3 months ago
Dry medium bodied slightly peppery and cherry flavours. Not very manic but enjoyed with Greek beef stew and mashed potatoes at Kellari restaurant in Beeston. — 4 months ago
Refreshing citrus. Seemed to go with everything and also nothing. — 7 months ago
Xinomavro is really a variety to seek out if you want to drink complex wines of the highest level that still are really affordable. I love it. The nebbiolo market seems slightly flooded in 2023 and if you are looking for something similar this is it. Complex mesmerising aromas and a super structured and well balanced wine. Dark berries, plums, baking spices, marzipan, bay leaf, olives, mushrooms. Silky texture and a tannic finish. — 7 months ago
Bright, floral, not too acidic, soft, dry, passion fruit, even. — a year ago
