Wonderful wine, especially with Mexican food. — 5 years ago
Epiphany wine! I've had younger Gantenbein and not been impressed. I assume this is what excellent and aged 1er and G.C. burgundy is like. Silky and spicy with hints of tobacco without a hint of tannin. — 6 years ago
Tasted a 100% Marsanne from the producer not long ago, and it’s good to taste a 100% Roussanne bottling.
Nose is more aromatic than Marsanne with apricot, honeysuckle, beeswax, green mango with grassy undertone. Interestingly there is also a very light petrol note just like the Marssane. Medium body with bright citrus acidity. Alcohol feels a bit elevated even if it’s only 12.5% abv. Finish is clean wth decent length. Quite nice overall. — a year ago
Excelsior! Great trip to Santa Barbara to get this. — 5 years ago
Liked it. Smooth. Not as good as Zenayda Wallflower but still good. Would buy again. — 5 years ago
breathing didn’t improve it. Melon, citrus, mineral. Good, not stellar. — 3 years ago
I’ve never had anything like this. Brunello like, musty, earthy, dried red fruit in the best way. garnet color.. First experience with a wine of this age, it’s an epiphany for me. — 4 years ago
So I realize that we’re suppose to have canceled this producer, but in our defense we were offered this wine as consolation when the Bandol we requested was OOS and there were no complaints.
Damn was this wine an epiphany — intensely fragrant with rose petals and geranium on the nose and palate. Ripe nectarines and blood orange with some nebulous savory herbal quality too. A really special wine to pair with a really fabulous birthday girl @Maura Passanisi

Really love the fruit and the smoke on the nose and palate. Impressed. — 9 months ago
