The nose was a bit closed at first but is now opening up with chalk and lovely lemon curd and lemon zest notes as the wine slowly warms up in the glass. There is also a light floral touch too along with some fresh white grape.
This is very inviting. The palate is superb with a superlative acid backbone, some delicious lemon curd and zesty notes all along, some chalky mouthfeel that changes in the rear with a bit of grip, before a long, fresh and tangy finish with lemon curd and that zesty twist that makes you reach for the bottle for a second glass right after the first one. This is unmistakably a German Riesling Kabinett, and a great example at that!
Edit : now that the wine has warmed up in the glass, notes of fresh white peach and roasted pineapple with honey are popping up in the nose. Delicious! — 4 months ago
