The 6th and final of the Vosne Romanee Grand Crus. Tasted blind. Red fruited without the intensity on nose and palate of the others in this final group. In past tastings La Grande Rue has been a standout and good value in relative terms but this year it lacked the depth class and intensity of the others in the group. To summarise the Vosne Romanee GC group the consensus of the group was #1 to the DRC RC, Equal 2nd to La Tache and the Thibault Richebourg, 4th to the Hudelot RSV, 5th to La Romanee ( a tough school when a wine as good as this is placed 5th!) and 6th to La Grande Rue. Congratulations to Prince Wine Store for putting this wonderful tasting on every year and being able to source these increasingly rare bottles. Already looking forward to the next one. — 4 years ago

Sometimes dismissed as Burgundy’s lowliest category, Passetoutgrains - which loosely translates to “all grapes allowed”- is a type of field blend made with at least one-third Pinot Noir and no more than two-thirds Gamay, traditionally planted and fermented together. In a territory prime for Pinot Noir, where this grape often reaches astronomical prices, however, Gamay is however gradually being pullet out, making Passetoutgrains an increasingly rare find. This juicy, quaffable blend is two-thirds Gamay from Gilly-les-Citeaux and one-third Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny. — 4 years ago
A bit young, but this is serious Burgundy from an UTR producer. — 6 years ago
Bien typé Gevrey, assez concentré avec des arômes de Cacao. Beau 2008 — 9 years ago
— 9 years ago

It was pleasant but there really wasn’t the sustenance or the intensity that I was hoping for. #chambollemusigny #pinotnoir #burgundywine — 4 years ago
Spices weren't detected, just beautiful pure red fruit pouring through. Trademark candy and herbal notes were present as well albeit subtle. Most people guessed Gevrey Chambertin 2015. Big fan of their style, but sadly prices have only been rising. I'm told their 2015 is a notch up compared to this vintage. Preferred this over the Hudelot Noellat Vosne Romanee 2015 we drank prior to this bottle. — 6 years ago
