Black fruit, black cherries, spices, slight hints of licorice on the very Pinot Noir nose. The palate is structured, medium to strong bodied and very typical of Nuits Saints Georges but with good fruit and balance, making it a good delicious bottle, would be perfect with a touch more length. 90-91 pts
Pale lemon green in appearance. Very distinct nose with wax, crayon and a little bit of lemon. Balanced acidity (6/10) and medium bodied. Layered with minerality, spices, a touch wax with ton of citrus. Long finish. Drink till 2022. — 6 years ago
Still concentrated red at the core with beautiful garnet towards the rim. The nose shows classic aged Boudots and thrives on the palate with vibrant 1990 acidity. This is at maturity, should definitely enjoy now. — 7 years ago

Double decanted at Ma Cuisine. Charming from the get go. Attractive nose of sweet spices and cool red berry fruit. Quite Vosne like. Very elegant and smooth on the palate, while slight astringency gives way to NSG. Later learned that the fruit is owned by Hospice de Nuits. Even more impressive considering Hubert Lignier doesn't own the vineyards. Personally a fan of Les St George made by Lignier and Faiveley. I have go to try the Chevillon and Gouge to see how the style differs for this terroir! — 7 years ago
Unbelievable Christmas wine for the festivities…. — 4 years ago
Spices and nice dark and red fruit on the nose and palate, nice balance, medium bodied plus with a soft texture of tannins, good. 89-90
Notes constantes, un beau fruit, des épices, bien équilibré, assez puissant mais sans excès, des tannins approchables et de belle texture. 89-90 — 4 years ago
Excellent well aged Burg from a great vintage. Red fruit earth cherries firm palate long finish though with some complex wood notes. Kicks up a notch from Les Essards. — 5 years ago
These wines take a while to open up but once it happens there is some type of magic. The nose is stunning with a mix of red fruits that are fresh and ripe, herbaceous notes, and earthy tones, black tea and minuscule hints of leather. The plate is sheer elegance, the fruits show tart the flowers and herbs sing fresh and the texture is classic burgundy. — 5 years ago
Hard not to recommend this one. Entry level burgundy that is performing way above it’s status . Excellent wine. — 6 years ago
We had the 2009 Vintage on 9/7-8/18. The strawberry fruit is subtle. There was cardomom, mushroom and a nice spice. Truly Burgundian. Medium bodied. No tannin; smooth and ready to drink. — 7 years ago
Ripe, powerful, complex. Brilliant ruby-garnet. Haunting flavors, tremendous grip and persistence. Fruit-forward, black cherries and kirsch framed by limestone and earth and generously toasted oak. More defined flavors will emerge in a few years, but this is a complex and vibrant wine that will coat your palate aggressively with dense fruit. — 7 years ago
Carter White
Comes out earthy and a touch funky, which fades with time open, leaving behind pure brambly berry fruit. Delicate, with good concentration and length. — 3 years ago
