Very pleasing. Cherries and raspberries, very smooth. Went great with couscous, a lot of veggies and merguez — a month ago

Ramey’s interpretation of #claret is quite interesting. After 9 years of bottle time it’s aged more than expected. Stewed plum, quite faint dark fruit on the nose. Prominent acidity on palate, primary fruit exited stage left, some sherry notes but still noticeable tannins. 68% #cabernetsauvignon, 18% #merlot, 6% #syrah, 4% #malbec, 4% #petitverdot — 4 months ago
Blew us away. So good. Rich. Decadent. But not too much. 99 points RP 95 points WS. Best wine I’ve had in a while. May have been peak def could have laid down a few more years. NYE 2023 — 5 months ago
Beautiful dark fruit, complimented by chocolate and tobacco, lively with resolved tannins, fantastic! — 6 months ago
Eye catching and provocative with a proud price point - but wow! It works! Barry White singing in the background with lavender and satin sheets Smooooooth. This is incredible from nose to tail on a way most blends don’t achieve. Strong punch, so it’s like an iron fist delivered in a velvet glove. Oh my my - definitely a worthy glass! — 8 months ago
Smooth and drinking nicely, but don’t think it has much time left drink now — 4 years ago
After 20 years, it still took extensive decanting to soften the initially gripping tannins. Once it did, beautiful dark fruits came through. Black currants, stewed prunes, delicious and full on the palate. Outstanding. Paired well with Brie and beef chow fun!! — a month ago
Medium ruby , quite wide ruby / garnet rim , but very little bricking . Very young looking . Quite deep on the nose with dusty spiced cassis and dark fruits and coffee , slightly toasty , leather. On the palate quite dark fruits , cassis , spiced plum , roasted peppers , with those coffee notes. Quite sweet on the mid palate with ripe but still noticeable tannin, good balanced and acidity and balanced alcohol . Pretty decent length with a leather , coffee tinged finish . Still drinking very well , and will do over the next 5-8 years . — 3 months ago
A nice contrast to the ‘17 Right Bank, this left bank blend is rich and supple, with notes of black currant, cassis, cedar, cinnamon, forest floor, and violet. Warm and velvety with sleek acidity. Delicious tannins. I usually prefer the Right Bank, in particular for its QPR. But on this occasion, this left bank shines. — 5 months ago
Napa Bordeaux blend - Black currant, violets, cherry, cedar and spice - plenty of fruit - likely peaking - opened up with some air — 8 months ago
Oak smell with dark raspberries and black peppers. Smith and well balanced. — 11 years ago
I’m a Tempest fan but others preferred The Bard. Young but fantastic. Could have spent more time opening but too many people for that. Magnum. — 2 months ago

Dark ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis, licorice, and plum. Plus body, plus tannins, plus acid. While strong, balanced, and elegant, it opens up with a soft, round palate. Exemplary Napa red. 68 Cab Sauv, 28 Merlot, 2 Cab Franc, 2 Petit Verdot. — 4 months ago
1.5 hour decant(decent chunky sediment). A majestic deep purplish magenta color with a little bricking. Always have a soft spot for aged Cain Five and Chris's old school savory style(embrace a little brett!). On the nose: stunning nose of worn leather, funky wet earth, red fruit, touch of menthol, nutty. Taste: Restrained, silky, elegant, balanced wine with dusty earth, herbaceous, currants, plum, cedarwood, and peppery dark chocolate medium finish. YUM! Hitting its stride with time to go. — 8 months ago
