Still a very robust wine. Not in the least past its prime. There’s a lot of fruit left, but there’s also a lot of oak., even after 26 years. This has dried out the wine a little bit. Don’t make too much out of my criticism. The wine is very enjoyable, so the bottle was finished without any complaints from my friends at the table.

Nothing here to light my fire. Not the kind of bottle you want eating out in Beaune — 9 years ago
Encore un peu jeune. Mais on sent la côte de Nuit. — 9 years ago
Soft and approachable. A bit of butterscotch on the nose. Beautiful looking but lacks some of the pure fruit I'd hope for. Good, but not profound. — 10 years ago
Dark fruited built on an acidic framework with firm but fine tannins. Interesting reductive ( in a good way) for a house that is reputed to use little sulfur. But this 1er has chops for sure (my first experience with Bel-Air), which immediately confirms that its neighbors are all quite “grand”! — 7 years ago
Like candy.... going to buy as much of this as I can find. Definitely benefited from the company of my beautiful wife, but killer stuff all around. — 8 years ago
Powerful flavors in a weightless wine. How is that possible? A minty eucalyptus aroma with secondary flavors. — 9 years ago
Softer compared to the Bourgogne still masses of fruit how does he do that? 🌹 Roses. Dark berries driven. The acidity saves it for being almost jammy. This needs a lot of time. — 10 years ago

Lovely! Complex and bright with the terroir coming through more with every taste. I loved this wine and found it to be an incredible value for the price point! — 6 years ago
