A expressive Pinot Noir — 2 years ago
Lively. Subtle. Great balance even at this age. Had it with classic roast chicken. — 5 months ago
Super young. Once the primary & quite expressive fruit blows off, this is actually quite nice. Still on the fruitier side, but there’s a savoury, earthy whiff to it. Airy cherries, baking spice, good depth.
On the palate this is still youthful LY chunky but there’s good balance, good depth. This is surprisingly high in alc (14.5%!!) and it’s noticeable.
Very curious how this will evolve.

Christian Moreau in 2020 has as an excellent stable led by Les Clos, with the Valmur close behind, and the Vaudésir picking up good points for favorite nose this morning. Today the Cuvée Guy Moreau was a delicious step up from the regular Vaillon. The 2017 Vaillon was ready and delicious. The 2018 Valmur stood out for its sheer intensity. Rating is for Les Clos. — 2 years ago

Not bad, but I’d take the 17’ Leflaive Bourgogne any day over this. I liked how complex the nose was, and that it was textural and quite mineral, but I just couldn’t stand how sweet-fruited and oily the profile was. Very clearly a warm vintage Burg. Then again, Amiot does make more generous Chardonnay’s. Not for me, but I’d recommend this over any butter ball to lovers of “smash-mouth” wines. — 2 months ago
