Columbia County 2.0: interesting drinking this day after a German Pinot, as I found them surprisingly related. A fave Beaujo producer’s Morgon, also a cooler tone & elegant. This is just lovely…
Lemonzest, red apples, wet rocks. Delicate hints of ginger, candyshop and matchstick. Really like the balance of acidic freshness, some richness in the mid palate and citrus bitters in the very long and chalky dry finish.

The most striking thing about this wine was the very creamy, buttery brioche flavors, along with lemon and pear. Apparently achieved through natural malolactic fermentation, along with extended lees contact. No oak (yay!). Well balanced with nice crisp acidity. Age maybe accounts for the lovely gold hints in the color? All around delish! — 7 years ago
