The 2015 Entre Chien et Loup is a stunning blend of 44% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne, 8% Petit Manseng and 8% Viognier that was sourced from the Bien Nacido Vineyard, the Cumulus (Estate) Vineyard and as well as the Eleven Confessions (Estate) Vineyard. The silky texture and unctuous quality of the wine really impressed. Despite having serious weight, the tension of the wine really sings, as a bright beam of salinity races through the core of the wine. A knockout at this stage, I can see this beautiful wine cellaring well for at least another five to seven years. Drink 2019-2026- 95 — 6 years ago
Literally the best white wine I have ever had. Pretty much my perfect, dry, crisp, delicious white. — 6 years ago
Sine Qua Non 2012 “In the Abstract” White Blend.
In honor of the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend at the Red Bull Ring, and a 98 degree day in Chicago, I thought I’d open a little something from my favorite Austrian winemaker. 35%Chardonnay 32%Roussanne 17%Viognier 16%Petite Manseng. Hailing from Bien Nacido, Cumulus and Eleven Confessions vineyard, it spent just under 19 months in 48% used barrels (1-4 years old), 27% new French oak and the balance in concrete eggs. Beautiful deep, translucent gold in the stem. On the nose, fresh-cut white flowers, apricots and peaches with carmel corn and a killer buttery brioche note that just makes me smile. HUGE, full-throttled palate of those aforementioned honeyed apricots and peaches with some mint and spice notes. Finishes with a lingering touch of toasty oak. Viscous, unctuous and oily texture from the Roussanne component. Big, bold, and decadent., yet elegant and classy. For me, this wine is all about the nose and mouth feel. Good Lord, I do love and treasure these SQN whites. To my palate, they evolve and improve every bit as much as Manfred’s reds. They’re in a class by themselves. — 7 years ago
Absolutely devine buttery Chardonnay with a touch of apricot on the finish. Lovely lovely wine — 9 years ago

Parish Brewing Braincake DIPA! White grapefruit color with bubble striation, forming a yellow-tinted, white froth that dissipates rapidly to spitbug spots atop a cumulus cloudscape. Big nose of fresh juices; lemon, orange, grapefruit, and tangerine with a lime zest. There is a sense of rainbow sorbet to the whole. Piths of the aforementioned play background, while lemon crystallizes tantalizingly. Kumquat and guava swim in a palatable pudding of pineapple-tangerine, sporting defensive spikes of lemon essence filled with venomous grapefruit oils, somehow rooted on tangy malts. There is an exquisite balance at play, salivation and wicking churning up impossible combinations that seem citric, minerally, and soft in a melodic interplay. This one is really milking my fangs in the best of ways. .

Reasonably priced wine and I could drink this all day! — 6 years ago
Baby, it’s cold outside. Falling near 70! The stouts are out! This sleek black beauty has it all! Thick, even lacing in two tone cafe shades, a cumulus attitude. Clean almond and cacao pod with a lemon pith aura. Bee pollen, waterfall rocks and northern oyster shell, including a light brine. Medium mouthfeel and soft minerality prevailas sips reduce the lace to alphabet soup fonts and ultimately horror forests. Unexpectedly clean, with coffee-cola notes and caramelized onion minus the burn. Crispy vanilla that turns creamy with agitation. Steely, smoky, pepper crackers, and bitter violets. #boulevardbrewing #darktruth #kcbeer #stout #dankdark — 7 years ago

Happy Delectable New Years!!!.....the night is sketchy, but the wines were brilliant!!
1) Manfred Krankl's 2013 Next of Kyn #7.
2) 2012 Marcassin chardonnay.
Not sure which was which, but I remember layers of black fruit, pear, orange peel, cassis, spice, flowers, minerals, earthy, wet rocks, a BlackBerry vanilla finish....elegant. powerful, rich, full body....wow — 5 years ago
Just the right beer for South Florida; bright with the slightest alpenglow, thick cumulus suds, with aspirational lacing like angel wings. Tropical start of sweet grapefruit and diced, dried pineapple, lemon zest, gooseberry, pear, papaya and mango aromas. Zippy lime, salted lemon, kaffir lime leaves, carrot-squash purée, lemongrass and tangerine pith. There is a sweet, ripe note running the breadth of this one, feels like paradise. — 6 years ago

Deep ruby red. Decanted for almost 4 hours. Powerful nose with olives, black bramble berries, tar, baking spices and gravel. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Layered palate with black currants, black olives, a touch savory, herbs, cinnamon and a little dark bit of dark crushed gravel. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2038. (97+)
One of my favorite Syrah based wines for sure. This 2015 is made up of 80.5% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah, 7% Mourvèdre, 3.5% Viognier and 2% Grenache. The fruit comes from three of the four estate vineyards: 37% The Third Twin, 36% Eleven Confessions and 27% Cumulus. Fermented separately with around 34% whole bunches and then aged for 22 months in a mix of new and used French oak barrels. Thank you Drew for givining this some extra decant time for us!
$$$$$ - Purchased at RARE Steakhouse in Washington, DC for Restaurant week for $165.00, yes that is the price. Average retail is around $364.00.
