I called Bordeaux blend but new world. It is mostly mouvedre which was surprising. Then Grenache and only 3% Syrah. Liked it a lot, just a bit surprising. — 3 months ago
Blend of 40% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 21% Syrah, 5% Counoise, 3% Vaccarese and 1% Cinsaut, deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits, herbs, spices and floral notes. On the palate flavors of strawberry, currants and raspberry with floral herbs, leather, tobacco and black pepper. Fine grippy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, toasty oak and meaty pepper spice. — a month ago

Enjoyed with butternut bisque, baked cod, devils on horseback, lobster ravioli, scallops, shrimp, and banana sticky toffee with vanilla ice cream. — a month ago
Strong QPR, fascinated study to see an entry level offering from Tablas Creek aged 13 years. Time has taken the fruit farther back from the palate, featuring meaty and stewed fruit up front, sweet tobacco mid-palate and vanishing tannins on the finish. #pasorobles — 2 months ago

An ardent traditionalist, Laurent Charvin makes one of the more interesting wines in the CdP AOC. There is no super-cuvée; their best fruit goes into their standard (and only) bottling.
Opened several hours prior to service. The 2015 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, developing with an intriguing combination of fresh and desiccated brambles, Cedar forest, Christmas fruit cake, black pepper, and well-oiled baseball glove and a mix dried green herbs. On the palate, the wine is bone dry, medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, rich and juicy with surprising structure. Delicious.
