A lovely Pouilly-Fumé, having a fine floral nose followed by pallet of limestone rocks tumbled in dried fruit and pressed mountain wildfires. Super long acidic finish with hint of smoke. Conclusion: Oh Yeah! — 7 years ago
Blind tasted. Nose is very tight; star fruit, green apple, hints of poolside vapors. First sip is intense, acidic and tight as well, a few chews revealing structure and contained complexity. A nice buttery and ripe fruit retro really shows the quality of the wine, in conclusion. Very hard to describe - a thinker - that's for sure. Still very young - a sleeper - that's no doubt, pleasure was partly intellectual. I'd recommend to carafe for half a day or to taste the bottle over a few days. Taste around 14 degrees. The 2019 Cuvée Edmond is an outstanding Sancerre, but it has a price tag to match. It is already drinking beautifully with its ripe apple, white stone fruit and subtle savory characters enveloped within its succulent, round and concentrated core. The conclusion is a delight with a chalky coating covering the entire mouth and a fine line of tension weaving the wine together. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2022)

Pulled from my cellar where is has rested since release. This is a carnival of characters with dark fruit, teriyaki, bacon fat, olive tapenade, moist forest floor, hollowed out decomposing log, leather, coco, and coffee. Tannic still with plenty of acid; the finish is as long as the day. Our assessment, considering the abundant secondary characteristics, that this was on the decline and opening now was a bit of a fortuitous save. And while I don’t disagree that now is the time to drink these wines, Day 2 was noticeable brighter with fresher blue fruits and structure even more pronounced. Overall conclusion, these are far from going dead anytime soon but why wait? This was a fabulous bottle and I’m so pleased we were able to share with a dear friend. — 4 years ago

pale lemon color, apples pears citrus on the nose w some floral aroma. off dry, high acid, medium finish. crisp and balanced, could use a bit more finish but conclusion Very Good — 6 years ago
Underripe pineapple nose shows lemon zest, steely lime, ethereal jasmine, cool grapefruit, green pear, pea purée. Zesty lemon leaps from the glass and races along the palate, finishes lime and key lime, with a mineral oscillation. Chalky and refreshing simultaneously. Very satisfying dance of exotic starfruit and yellow pear tomato. Ginger and grapefruit build to a crescendo on an refreshingly buoyed, boisterous conclusion.

Leather and ripe current or plum nose. Smooth taste start to finish. Some tannin but not overly. More acidic. Very dry. Nice long finish on the palate. I feel like the 2018 might need to age a bit more. Feels a tad young but very nice wine. — 4 years ago

Palate - Dry. Medium Acidity. Medium Tannin. Low Alcohol. Medium Body. Medium Intensity of Black Current, Black Cherries, Plums, Earth and Graphite. Medium Finish.

This feels like a well made wine. A really pleasing mineral/gravel note balances the deep fruits nicely. Continues to open over the 4 hours sampled. Tannins are relatively fine grained. Cocoa and crushed roasted almonds reverberate with the fruit at the conclusion. — 5 years ago
certainly too young but instructive to try nonetheless. ruby with garnet edges showing some early age. medium intensity. deeply complex nose w roses, figs, dried cherries & cranberrries, clove, pepper, mushroom, truffle. palate dry w medium acid, tannins super high and intense. finish was medium in length, can detect some signs of excellence but overshadowed by tannins. conclusion very good and needs to age considerably longer. — 6 years ago
Bought in 2001 by Florence & Dominique Decoster. Ch Fleur was promoted to "Saint-Emilion Grand cru classé" in 2006. I did a vertical ‘12, ‘13 & ‘14, check my notes on ‘14 for conclusion. A blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc and 5% Cab Sauvignon, deep red with big ripe fruit aromas and gentle notes of floral. Blue & Black berry flavors, great mouthfeel delivers nice balance on structured soft tannins that could benefit with more time, lingering finish ending with smoky mineral notes. Will cellar Nicely! — 8 years ago

The 2020 Sancerre Les Chasseignes is a ripe and round expression with sweet pineapple fruit flavors. The limestone proportion of the clay-limestone vineyard brings tension and texture that lightly holds the mouth, providing a satisfying finish. It's a gently refreshing acidity, leaving a gently fresh rather than zesty conclusion. For drinking now to the medium term. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2022)
