Rose petal, red fruits, a hint of spearmint. Would pair amazingly well with spiced lamb or Moroccan food. An excellent wine and well priced @ $45/btl — 5 years ago
Now THIS is a wine. Was totally unprepared for how good this was. A fragrant, powerful nose of dark fruit and barbecued meats (complete with smoke). The mid-palate moves beyond the savory introduction with complex notes of black coffee, dark chocolate and plum skins. The finish is balanced, peppery with loitering tannins. Hats off! — 5 years ago
This Syrah is deep, rich, and luxurious with a wealth of fruit. Black olives, game, licorice and spice round out the full bodied palate. A solid wine but hard to justify at $60.

Dark ruby/Inky in color with a wide reddish rim.
Stinky nose, as expected, and dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Full-bodied and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with wood, earth, vegetables, spices, barnyard, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, tar, black tea and bitter herbs.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a unique Syrah from Walla Walla Valley. Rich and extracted. Soft and elegant. Very much 'in your face' kind of wine.
This 7 year old is still young, and needs a few hours to open up properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
This Single Vineyard is nicely balanced and complex with a nice mouthfeel. Not my usual style, but very tasty.
I've had a few vintages of this wine and it always delivers.
Wine Spectator 94 points. Wine Advocate 96 points.
Good by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of Syrah with a touch of Viognier. Only 859 cases produced.
13.8% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Color - dark purple garnet. A bold expressive funky perfume fruit nose so classic of Cayuse with mineral-meat, smokey and mint notes lingering with a vanilla toast scent. Juicy and elegant; rich with dark plum-cherry flavors intertwined with a smokey soil bacon bitters taste—the mineral-iron characteristics follow with a tobacco long finish. Looking forward to seeing how the flavors change with different foods and as the wine opens up. Bionic Frog is favorite and definitely a wine to try and store in your cellar. Bought six each of the ‘99 Walla Walla and ‘03 En Chamberlain at auction a few years ago. The WW has seriously over-performed, while the EC’s seemed overripe and perhaps even slightly cooked...until bottle five. Pulled this bottle with the expectation of tasting and perhaps dumping and moving on. Cork was pristine and first sniff stopped me in my tracks. Everything I had hoped for in previous bottles was here- mild to moderate Cayuse funk of wet fur, sumptuous dark fruit, and a nice minerality. Beautiful Syrah. Fingers crossed for bottle six. — 6 years ago
I love Cayuse syrahs but this is a Merlot based Bordeaux style with ~ 50% Merlot and 40% cab franc which is a little like saying I feared a medium bodied wine - was I wrong - so so wrong - killer juice - it was a full bodied baby - almost like drinking chocolate covered raspberries- what a remarkable thing to say for I had to dive through the funk - tons of Aromas of earth, peat, savory herbs and dark flowers lead to soft, sweet, smoky flavors. The texture and richness keep the interest high - almost too chewy - but after a while the wine soften and the firmness was like a waterbed of joy and sin mixed together - JD gives it 95 - will drink fantastic now with a mid decant time and last 2 decades but not sure what bottle rest will do and I think Cayuse makes to drink their wines early on - big smile of approval rating — 7 years ago
Lots of plums, cherries and fruit flavor. Really delicious even though it's so young. — 8 years ago
In the words of my son, “Bruh!” Dark Cherry and currant, big yet structured, tannin and acidity is in that sweet spot. Paired with reverse seat steak, amazing! — 2 years ago
Had the tempranillo a few months ago, this time it’s the grenache. It’s still wickedly young but putting out loads of cherry and watermelon juiciness and then immediately takes a turn into that rocks district funk. Always impressive how that shines through even when these wines are fresh. — 6 years ago

Bought at the KV tasting room outside of Seattle a few years ago. Fun visit as they have plenty of wine to meet your palate needs!
I opened this as part of a GSM blind taste. There were 12 wines, including an ‘07 Cayuse GOK, ‘12 No Girls Syrah, ‘21 Allbaer Syrah, ‘12 Torbreck Struie, etc.
Out of 12, this tied for second. This took the bigger profile of the ‘07 GOK, added a juicy fruit factor, removed a kiss of funk, and tada! Double decanted two hours before taste. Translucent ruby in the glass. Aromatics of black peppered rhubarb, green/herbal twang, and cured meat (not overly meaty though). Beautifully elegant profile (and appropriate for Grenache) showing great acidity, whole cluster, with spicy strawberry, sweet jerky and no trace of oak. Defining characteristic of this wine is juicy red fruit framed by black pepper spice. Good now with decant.
