Last ‘17 in cellar! In the heart of the Chianti lies Estate of Sette Ponti, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past village of San Giustino Valdarno. Has 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques, deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate blackberry, plum and cherry flavors with blossom notes, spice and fine integrated tannins. Good balance, long finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Nice! Will age a bit more! Bright, green-tinged yellow. Penetrating aromas of fresh citrus and pit fruits are complicated by suggestions of chalky minerals and pungent flowers. Juicy and sharply focused, offering vibrant pear, Meyer lemon and honeysuckle flavors that show very good clarity and minerally lift. 100% carricante fermented partially in barriques, which is noticeable in the nose along with white peach. On the palate however the volcano bites through and the salty minerality comes to front along with lemon acidity. Not my favourite white Etna, but still a very solid effort. — 8 years ago

Blend of 90% Syrah, 5% Marsanne and 5% Rousanne vinified together and aged in old Bordeaux barriques for one year. Complex nose, with aromas of dark fruit (prunes, cassis), coffee and savory, smoky character. On the palate, it is balanced, with flavors of cherries and chocolate. Long finish. — 5 years ago

Deep red concentrated aromas of fruit spice & oak. On the palate ripe fruit, plum and sweet cherry with sweet spice and toasty oak. Pinot Noir 2019

Pale to mid Ruby in colour with great clarity. Aromatic red and black Cherry notes with rose petals. A stalky whole bunch note with a little spice. Those fresh cherry notes of medium weight but medium plus intensity transfer through to the palate. Very fresh, young with great potential for future complexity. I can see why it won the Trophy for Best Pinot Noir at both Royal Adelaide and Royal Hobart - both shows with extensive and high quality Pinot entries. Too young but I had to try the first of 6. Next in a year plus. Technical background: (whole berry ferments with 20% whole bunches. Aged in 25% new puncheons and Barriques). Ended up having the 2nd bottle 195 weeks later on 25th October 2024. Just a stunning Pinot Noir and even improving on that 2 Trophies standard. — 5 years ago

Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel.
