Finally drinking our champagne we brought back from France — 6 years ago
This is of course a 1996 Les Amoureseus not a CDR. Two hours of Audoze air and the wine was singing! Typical Chmabolle silliness, great multilevel complexity, solid mid palate and an amazing finish! Still it was out classed by the RSV — 7 years ago
Smooth, good tasted vodka. — 8 years ago
It might seem I rate wines overly generously but then again I dont bother with wines I didnt like (which might be a mistake actually.) We drank a 1989 Groffier Clos de Beze during the same seating and while it was still quite visceral and extracted, it had the none of the Burgundian magic and I'd rate it 8.5. This Aubert on the other hand is a love child between a le montrachet and cali's perfect weather. This Chardonnay is the reason I fell in love with wine. magical, tasty, it elevated chef Barber's amazing array of fresh spring veggies to such great heights it really made me appreciate his genius and mother earth's wonderful gift to mankind. Yes, this chard literally made me high on life. — 9 years ago
Groffier-Leger Richebourg 1970
One of those days when you're reorganising your cellar and the cork of a '70 Richebourg drops when you lift it... So you drink it. Perhaps the swiftest way to turn abject agony into limitless pleasure!
Nice healthy morello cherry glow with a slightly watery edge; a nose of toffee apples, rich strawberry juice, and hints of sweet liquorice and vanilla; fantastic palate, though ever so slightly dusty from being driven across town for 7 minute before drinking. Still phenomenal - it just last and lasts, spiralling out and blossoming in the mouth.
This was a bottle with serious ullage (7.5 cm). The other two in my cellar are in great condition so this was very encouraging indeed! — 9 years ago
Terrific nose of mature red fruits and autumnal forest floor and earth. Then a bit of shock of acids on palate but then resolved to nice balanced profile and lively texture. Good finish. — 5 years ago
I’ve had this wine in my cellar since release. Cork was prestine and showed nicely. Probably held a few years to many. — 7 years ago
Docile but like a Chopin nocturne — 8 years ago

Prie is the varietal. A first for me from my first visit to Flatiron in SF- a place I wish I had discovered much sooner. Bought this out of sheer curiosity with no intel/insight from staff. Delicately stewed yellow apples, delicately browned citrus which doesn't sound sexy but this wine is DELICIOUS! Some salty/mineral and "of the sea" happening too. Am I tasting the juice of vidalia onion???? Juicy and delicious, more savory than fruity= Such a cool wine!! Many talking about crazy acidity but I'm finding it to be very balanced. Poss due to drinking 2016 in 7/20. Maybe the younger ones are searing??? Glad I waited a few. Anyone else drinking this while rocking Coheed & Cambria turned up to 11? No its not Hatebreed or Slayer but also not Coldplay or Chopin. Struggled to save some for day 2. Probably not a wine I'll find in MCO =( Taking last sip thinking slightly of old Burgundy. — 5 years ago
A fantastic champagne that we picked up during a visit to Reims last week. Great depth of flavor, an elegant palate comes across with flavors of dried apricots, hints of candied lemon, and that tell-tale bready yeast character that can only come from Champagne. A great start to a celebration of Vanessa’s promotion to Full Professor at Albion College! — 7 years ago

Bold, fresh, juicy wine with a hint of effervescence with the start of each sip. Beautiful fruity aromas. — 8 years ago
CVed 8/18/17 white Burg comp. Color most golden of the 4. Nose with notes of oxidation and Sherry but not at all overblown. Mature. Nose also of mature flowers with good acidity. Good finish. — 8 years ago
CVed 4/13/17. Mature red berries and clean nose with late hints of earth. Medium body and balanced palate of acids and fruits with good finish that's complex. Good Burg. Opened 11/29/17. Nice wine. Nose now has hints of funk with the earthiness. Good finish. Raising a point. Second bottle opened 1/10/18. Medium Ruby color and nose of dark mature berries with earthiness and funk and complexity. Good acid ad fruit ave minerals on palate ave long finish. Agree with 9.1, but upping to 9.2. Darn, bought only utero two bottles at $60 each, so no more. — 9 years ago
