A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice. — 7 years ago

At 9 years old this is absolutely gorgeous with an expressive nose of blackberries, wild flowers, pepper and leather, enhanced by a subtle smokiness. In the mouth it combines power with elegance, with pure fruit, subtle spices, silky tannins and great length. Terrific value if the mythical La Chappelle doesn't fit your budget. Wow, what a beauty. Decanted for 2 hours, intensely aromatic, precise and energetic showing black raspberries, candied red cherries, flowers, hints of orange peel and packed with minerals. Finishes with exceptional length. The tannins are present and firm but the wine’s superb balance along with the combination of Fourrier’s style and the ripe vintage make it in a wonderful place now and with a certainty to improve with age. — 6 years ago

Still youthful garnet color. Almost opaque. Fruit forward nose with notes of black cherry, rhubarb, brambly brush, moist earth and a little menthol.
