Q is for Quinquina. Smells like a fortified wine with slight currant aromas, a good amount of acid gets the tongue tingling, the raisin and currant aromas come through the flavors but the body is light compared to a sherry or tawny port. A very nice aperitif... and we'll see how it does in a cocktail! #atoz2021 — 4 years ago
There is an irony thing in the nose along with violet and rose petals and cherry and a bit of black pepper. This is the nose I fell in love with 10 years ago. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid backbone, a very nice round and radiating fruit, a bit of a sweet touch, some nice oily, scratchy tannins which kick things up for a rather long finish with that fruit, pepper and a long lasting floral aftertaste. So great. This is 7 Euro when you buy it from the winery directly and it's 15 kilometers from where I am right now 😍 — 5 years ago
Upon opening very light and vibrant and a few minutes later mellowed out for a nice fullness. Slightly acidic with soft tannins, notes of vanilla, spice, almost a caramel flavor, darker fruits like cherry and plum, and a hint of violet. Beautiful color on this 2013 Vintage! — 6 years ago
A wine that I have had many times that has been consistent with my prior posts. Notes of black cherry, raspberry, earth, mineral, savory spice & violet. No rush as there is structure & tannins with good acidity that will allow you to cellar for many years. — 4 years ago

The 2008 Cheval Blanc is one of the go-to wines of the vintage. Now at 15 years old, it has retained the energy and focus it displayed from the outset: black fruit, crushed stone, wilted violet petals and touches of forest floor cohere wonderfully in the glass. The Cabernet here is more expressive. The palate has a slight chewiness on the entry, but it "relaxes" in the glass. It shows off its delicate lattice of tannins and perhaps a bit more backbone than I have observed on previous bottles. It's very intense on the finish where, as before, the Cabernet Franc takes charge. Superb. Keep it another three to four years if you can. Tasted at the Lia's Wings/book dinner at Medlar restaurant. Very elegant with silky, polished tannins and lovely floral notes of violet. Leather, black cherry, blueberry, warm wood notes of delicate vanilla, espresso, mocha, tobacco leaf and a background note of mushroom and vanilla. Good long finish.
This wine is 47% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. — 3 years ago
Still young, but definitely earthy and fruity. — 4 years ago
Bright, clear ruby with a great nose of cassis, blackberry, violet and mint.
Beautiful length and finesse. Great impression of crushed fruit with hints of forest floor and cedar. The finish leaves a lasting impression of sweet red fruit and supported by a soft blanket of tannins. This is the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove - just lovely — 7 years ago

Vintage 2020 | with 12 months barrel aging | clearly more body and structure than the reserve, but at this moment less fruit. Dinnerwine par excellence, not ready yet, better keep this one or two year in the cellar, potential. Paired with lamb chops. — 10 months ago
