One of those elegant textbook on St Emilion the Franc de la Rose explodes woth red fruits, cassis, graphite, pure. The palate is rounded and supple, very elegant and dust tannins. — 10 years ago

Lovely rosé to brighten a gray day in Chicago. Happy Friday! — 12 years ago
Strolled into Trader Joe’s; the shelf was stocked with this. Couldn’t believe it. Picked up another half case. This is a phenomenal bordeaux and one of the best QPRs around. Haven’t tasted in a year and it’s just as memorable. Lots of great mushroom and sweaty gym socks with a dusty, tannic finish. Perfect example of a phenomenal wine at sub-$20 that drinks at 3-4x the price. — 6 years ago

This vintage quite a bit more high toned w Beaujolais like qualities. The red fruits are crunchy w earth and lots of acidity. With some time this will develop nicely. — 10 years ago
Dried strawberry, baked apple, white raspberry, good deal of creaminess, moderate yeast profile. Pretty firm texture, fresh, dry. Happy anniversary wine! — 10 years ago

Some champagne from my wine course actually surprisingly delicious — 8 years ago
I suspect this didn't get quite enough air. Not quite pop and pour but it was only open for 45 mins before we drank it (we were perhaps over-concerned about the mid shoulder level). Lovely (and lively) russet core with long legs as a ruby rim; nose of pencil shavings, cigar tubes (hint of metal with lots of tobacco), blackberry stalks, and lingering aromas of compté cheese rind and venerable (on-the-edge) rose petals; long and satisfying - persistent tannins and well integrated but still present acidity. From half bottle - need to give the next one more time!!! — 9 years ago

Four day weekend. Gotta get it off to a good start. Been awhile since we had our 375ml of Ruinart.
The nose shows, ripe, slightly candied; black cherries, strawberries, kirsch cherries, rich, summertime watermelon, touch of orange citrus family blend, pomegranate juice, hints of fruit roll up & haunting apricots. Sea fossils & spray, a little bread dough, grey volcanics, chalky powder, orange, spring flowers with fresh & withering, red & pink rose pedals.
The palate is full & touch gummy/candied. Fruits are well extracted, deep, ruby; black cherries, blackberries, strawberries, kirsch cherries, rich, summertime watermelon, touch of orange citrus family blend, pomegranate juice, hints of fruit roll up & haunting apricots. Ghostly, not quite fruit brandy or fruit liqueur character, sea fossils & spray, a little bread dough, not quite medium, white spice with hints of palate heat, grainy, grey volcanics, chalky powder, orange, spring flowers with fresh & withering, red & pink rose pedals. The acidity lively and crisp. The round, well balanced & polish finish is always consistently satisfying and lingers for minutes.
