Always surprised by how long good wines can last. I would never have called it a 20yr old wine blind. Good balance and really came alive with the fruit after 1+ hours in the decanter. Good drinking window but can still hold off for a good 3-5yrs depending on how you like your Bordeaux. #happynewyear — 9 years ago
This tastes more like a Bordeaux to me than a Cab from Napa, but it is so excellent that I'll let it slide. This is a full bodied wine with strong oak, leather, smoke, and honestly a hint of tree bark (in a wonderful way!) This is close to a perfect wine. Buy all you can. — 9 years ago
Whoa, this was rockin'. Amazing aromatics. Fully mature wth life ahead. Clean and focused and very complex. Love it when you can find old rioja — 10 years ago
Early nose was austere, even a bit severe, then giving way to sticks and leaves and wet earth - like walking through the woods early in the morning. Light to medium in body. Stones and mushrooms and earth and sweet red fruit - all you can want in a Pinot Noir. I really like this wine. — 10 years ago
Wow is all I can say stunning so so good wish I could have shared it with you CM — 11 years ago
My kind of wine, a lot of meats and dark fruit. Mainly wood and meats in it. I can't have enough of this amazing wine though it can wait for a bit longer for a better opening. — 11 years ago
Such a treat - 2001 aging in that crazy magical way only Lopez whites can do. Thank you @AlexAlan! — 11 years ago
Dark purple plum skin color from center to the rim’s edge where some scarlet also appears. Opaque. Great fruit forward nose that grabs your attention. Notes of blackberries, ripe plums, violets, tobacco, forest floor and some crushed walnuts. Rich and silky in the mouth. Great balance and texture. Tannins perfectly integrated. Long finish. If a Cal Cab can be seductive, this is it. Still youthful but in a great zone tonight. — 8 years ago
Smooth finish, love this addition from Mondavi. Can taste the hint of bourbon — 9 years ago
Okay, I get what all the fuss is about. Hard to believe that something so layered and 'sweet' can have such refreshing acidity. Like being inside a leaking beehive during the lightning storm — 9 years ago
Dense and concentrated – and inky/purple color with aromas and flavors of cream, BlackBerries, charcoal, coffee and licorice. Amazingly full-bodied with velvety tannins and an amazing appeal – gorgeous and well proportioned. Can drink for two more decades but couldn't resist! Merry Christmas everyone! — 10 years ago

Bold and deep blend with a slight sweetness that's surprises the palette. — 10 years ago
Always a solid wine! Open it up and sip for a few hours if you can because this wine is ALIVE!! — 10 years ago
Classic Olga and Can Franc. Balanced with a hint of blackberry. — 11 years ago
53 years in waiting for this group... What can I say. Started off much younger than the label would say.. Like the old grand dame of St Estephe.. Nice fruit, wonderful nose, and a pleasant finish to round out a great bottle of wine from a era gone by. Shared with friends like it should be. Looking forward to 2015 to do it all again. — 12 years ago
Caymus Vineyards 2006 Can Sav - 26th BDay present from Dave and Val — 13 years ago
This stuff was freakin' awesome. Glassy, ruby red you can read through yet full. Levitates on the palate. Elegant tannins. Black fruit. Overall smooth, lush mouthful with sticky, earthy finish. Awesome. WBA $89 at Public Services — 9 years ago

Outstanding! There is the perfect moment for a bottle to be opened and tonight was it. It was the wine equivalent of a album that you can listen to from start to finish. — 10 years ago
Incredibly full and balanced. Loved it. — 10 years ago
I was disappointed with my last Caymus Special Selection vintage, but this beauty brought me back to a bottle that won Wine Spectator's #1 Wine of the Year ... Twice!! Incredible fruit and balance. This can be cellared and enjoyed for years to come. Cheers!! — 11 years ago
