Tart and to the point. Only oak is on the nose but it is so light. Ice cold it tastes like a SB. The dryness is something you look forward to sip after sip... when it opens up to room temp it tastes like a beautiful deflowered orange blossom, Happy New Year!! — 8 years ago
The biggest, darkest, deepest, Pinot from SLH... it stood up and it gave the pledge of allegiance to a grilled rib eye. Thank you America! — 9 years ago

Old wine. I can smell the earthy barnyard if success when all goes right. We decanted it at the table and it kept growing with each glass. Paired with a Waugh beef NY it brought forth floral and fruit tones, but cut through the fat in the steak to finish strong with acid and tannins! — 8 years ago
Big chewy red much like the red queen's bastard afterbirth.... what I can see in the fire is the smoky merlot characteristic as well as the Cabernet Franc singing throughout the afterlife. Big fruit form the Cabernet grapes are ever present and give the structure. Thank the old gods and new we were able to harvest the cork out of the neck! — 9 years ago
It was ok to drink as it was at the legal drinking age of 21 years old. It started right but each sip got better as it opened up. 1997 reminds me of the year that we were bobbing around in a red pickup truck smashing trash cans with the plow or sleeping off a hangover shotgun in a steel boxes Volvo! Good times! — 8 years ago
