We love this varietal every year we are fortunate enough to receive it. The crispness of the fruit sings through & always brings us back to the ECR vineyards. — 4 years ago

Great bottle of juice. All of the typical SA CB characteristics turned up to 11 with the addition of insane minerality. Best I’ve ever had by a mile. Full of character. — 2 years ago

Mischief El Camino Real Grenache Noir 2018

Quite possibly the best Grenache produced by the #SSCO Family. The color is beautiful light garnet, the fruit & earth are in harmony and the nose is vocals which pull it all together. — 4 years ago

Simply put, Saarloos & Sons is the best boutique winery the general public has never heard of. 100% family owned & operated, wines are sold through the tasting room, wine club & website only......no retail presence.

El Camino Real Vineyard Grenache Blanc 2018

Grenache Blanc is my favorite white varietal and the boys at Waylan do it right!!! This vintage is like a Kelsea Ballerini song, light and happy with some a little bit of edge. — 4 years ago

Montecillo Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Curious, so I decided to open up one of these while waiting for someone to help me consume the other half.... This wine is youthful, and for that reason is a bit out of balance from the previous wine I remembered and scored quite a bit higher than this one. This wine is a 93 right now, with potential for a 96-97 IMO. The fruit in front is massive. Black cherry, black licorice, but as @Shay A was mentioning there is a red fruity kind of touch to this one and I completely agree. The middle is a little bit muted vs. the previous vintage. The finish is quite peppery, toasted oak. Tons of potential on this full bodied Moon Mountain monster. Hold for the next 10 years. — 6 years ago

So Mark blinded me on this, and my first guess was a Cali Cab Franc (I got quite a bit of black pepper on the finish and after another 30mins or so, green bell pepper showed up...not vegetal or detracting, just a unique characteristic that made this intriguing). My second guess was a Coombsville Cab (it was inky and filled with fresh squeezed tart black and red fruit). My Coombsville guess was more of a cool climate Cab gueas, which is correct for Moon Mountain. The big mountain tannins are here and almost fine grained...in another 2-3yrs, they will be. Licorice and a sweetened red fruit note on the finish. Really want to try one of these with 5-7yrs of age. This will easily be 95+ in a couple years.

Camino de la Frontera Rosé Blend 2018

Second time with this bottling and an equally stellar experience. This producer works magic with her rosados. Flat out some of the best I’ve ever had. Deep ruby red, with strawberry fruit and a crushed candy nose. Mouth is tart, salty, taffy textured, leesy, with an umami wave. All the savory components integrate seemlessly with the fruit. Super length. What a great wine. — 4 years ago
