Médoc Cru Bourgeois Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

9.3

See previous note from almost 3 yrs ago - still going strong - improving even - fruit took on a baked quality, but so so fragrant, so in the pocket - really struts for a Cru Bourgeois! — 7 months ago

Les Baronnes Sancerre Pinot Noir 2018

Pinot Noir? From Sancerre?!? Mais, c’est vrai. In the glass: very pretty reds, light at tops, pink-red near sides of the bowl, darkening to a velvety rich dark rouge-noir center bottom of the glass… “La Vie en Rose” nearly leaps out pf the glass. On the nose: fresh paper and new spring acacia leaves. A pack of Marlborough’s still wrapped in plastic wants to announce itself at the end of a deep sniff. Ahhh, there it is—the spring cherries of a light pinot dance forth over the lips… en point…and plier mid-palate to let roll in lush cherry juice—just a little tart-sweet and delightfully bright… Edith Piaf coloratura leads to French Oak-inflected vanilla on a pillow-soft finish…oh!
A lingering finish at that—extra points, thank you!

Château Vieux Robin

Médoc Cru Bourgeois Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

Great storage on this one. Perfect match for a Wagyu Filet Mignon K&L notes as follows Perfect drinking 29 year old Bordeaux for about $1 per year! I love their 2004, but this wine is even better. 1995 was great Merlot year in Bordeaux and the grape shines through here. Sweet and fresh on the palate. The nose has some bottle Bouquet and touch of blueberry aromas. It is still lush on the palate. An old Bill Blatch find in the 80s. And it will cellar some more years with out a problem. Buy it by the case and enjoy with a short rib or lamb dish.

Les Baronnes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc

27.10.2023 Sancerre Les Baronnes, the second wine tasted with my colleagues and the director (who is drinking). Emphasized by Sauvignon Blanc's history and the description of Sancerre as a place, it was surprisingly appreciated. The 2022 vintage is quite light in terms of texture, but perfectly represents the variety. — 7 months ago

Château d'Arsac

Cru Bourgeois Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Decanted for 1.5hrs, but really opened up after 2-2.5hrs. Initially muted but as more time elapsed notes of black cherry blackberry followed by mushrooms, dominant dark earthiness and leather. Appropriately balanced acidity along with medium tannin that lingered well. Really nice! — 4 years ago
