An outstanding wine. Black cherries, blueberries, blackberries, a hint of tobacco and sweetness. Full-bodied. Earthy and smokey on the nose with a spectacular finish. Decanted for about six hours. Still plenty of cellaring potential. — 7 months ago

Favorite of the holiday wines we got. — a year ago
Nice Bordeaux blend of 55% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, herb, sweet spice and smoky scents. On the palate flavors of black cherry and ripe strawberry with vanilla, licorice and cacao, lively acidity. Fine ripe tannins, well balanced, long finish ending with fruit and spice. — 23 days ago
Nice. Tasting great at this time. Perfect with steak. I had a caymus cab before this and this was significantly more complex and better, but not outstanding. — 5 months ago
Thought we would go with the Act Natural from Redtail to go with a chicken pot pie from Blackbird Pie Company. — 8 months ago
Love this wine. Decanted for about seven hours. This was actually a unique blend for the Napa Valley Wine Auction. Tasting a lot of blackberry, black cherry, and pepper. Fabulous finish. 68% cab franc, 21% merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon. — 12 days ago

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Here's a gorgeous one.
Inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Dry and fruity on the palate, smooth and elegant.
Showing black plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This 7 year old Merlot from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Tangy and rich. Interesting and extracted.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with some airtime.
This 2016 was a great vintage in Napa, and it is definitely showing it.
I've had the 2014 vintage (which was a great vintage too) a few times before, and loved it just as much.
Peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.
Thank you Scott for sharing this with me.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
14.1% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
$100. — 21 days ago
