Celebrated 40th anniversary of Caymus in 2012, built by Charlie Wagner, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner and their son, Chuck. In 1975, they produced their first Special Selection Cab, which remains the only wine to have twice been named Wine Spectator's"Wine of the Year" (1984 and 1990 vintage). Sweet and rich, big ripe fruit, smoky oak, pepper spice with cacao and leather, super soft tannins, lingering on a well balanced finish ending with mineral notes. Wow!!! Easy drinking! Went well with USDA prime strip steak. β 7 years ago
Feather is 100% Cabernet. This is made in coordination with Randy Dunn. On the nose, dark, lightly spiced currants. Black oil, loamy soils, black licorice and fresh floral bouquet. On the palate, the mouthfeel is thick & rich. There's a good presence of wood shaving. Rich, ripe blackberries, dark cherries, candied black plum, plum, black raspberries, loamy soils, dark rich moist earth, leather, tobacco, spice-box, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, vanilla, black licorice, violets and fresh red florals. Acidity is round and mouthwatering. The structure is big. The tension perfect as is the balance of fruit and earth. This is definitely a Parker wine. It's so easy to drink young, yet will cellar 10-15 years nicely. Photos of the tasting rooms hand blown glass lighting...lit up. Cherry flavor, not too dry not too sweet. Easy drinking. β 8 years ago
This was a subtle and balanced Syrah. A little mushroom / meaty funk and soft blue fruits in the nose. Medium acid and tannin, soft entry, big on the mid palate, and good length. A Pinot Loverβs Syrah, which isnβt necessarily my favorite style but this was undeniably complex and delicious. β 6 years ago
Green pepper on the nose, deep thick ruby color, light oak on the mouth, not overwhelming pepper on the palate. Truly enjoyable cab that presents big and finishes easy and lovely! β 7 years ago

14' Radio - Coteau Savoy Vineyards. Medium + bodied . Intense and bright fruit. Notes of pear skins, lemon blossom. Floral & herbal notes. Touch of oak . Big fruit liqueur upon opening, settling into a lighter berry candy nose. Transforming flavors pull in many strong directions, but never last long enough to knock it out of round. Sweet and sour, earthy and floral. Opens up to an easy-drinking, versatile, pour-at-your-own-risk, pairing machine. With: brie, tarragon mustard, baguette, castelvetranos, and cured meats.
Edit: Finding chalk toward the end of the bottle... Also, sadness for not having another to open. β 8 years ago
This really reminds me of some of the more natural Cote Rotie producers I've tasted (especially Jean Michel Stephan). Mint, eucyliptus leads the nose with white pepper and subtle bloody meat notes. On the palate, very subtle tropical fruit notes (almost like pineapple and strawberry) but subtle. Plenty of meatiness and herbal quality on the palate too. Ideal wine for lamb. In a really good, soft and easy drinking stage for the 2011 vintage. β 6 years ago
