Floral hops character with a touch of caramel maltiness. Nice but a bit thin in body. I may need to change to a better accompaniment to the best in world Cohiba Behike cigar. This second production of Behike is my favorite with deep rich tea, cream, and leather. Cigar is an absolute 10. Upon reflection, the beer is somehow nicely mirroring the flavors of the cigar, so I've upped my rating. Not a bad pairing at all. — 9 years ago
Tonight I'm in a New York state of mind with one of my favorite wines crafted by Hudson-Chatham Winery, the 2013 Field Stone Baco Noir Old Stones & Old Vines, Masson Place Vineyards, Pulteney Farm (ABV 12%). I reviewed this one back in August 2015 on my blog. It remains outstanding, an exceptional example of Baco Noir which expresses its Hudson-Berkshire Beverage Trail area roots, literally, with aromas and flavors of tart cherry and plum accompanied by crushed rock and earthy minerality, lingering spice, and juicy, mouthwatering acidity. Pair this with nearly any food. — 9 years ago

Perhaps a little more drive than le mont but the nose is more expressive than the palate. As usual here, nose is deceptively sweet with a faint botrytis note. Palate didn't disappoint and opened a little over the course of a 3 hour dinner. Still, not exactly opulent. Paired well with two Berkshire pork dishes and a halibut course. Showing well. — 9 years ago

Support your local restaurants! Beautiful Berkshire pork chop dinner from the Selland restaurant group!
1.5 hour decant( lots of chunky sediment). A splendid dark ruby red color. On the nose: black fruit, floral, black olives, with a hit of pine/menthol. Taste: cedar, black cherry, licorice, with a chocolate metallic finish. A soft wine..tannins mostly resolved...a medium body, medium acidity, with a medium plus finish. — 5 years ago
