Great! Right from the nose through the last drop. — 9 years ago
It's time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time, a wonderful Chilean Cabernet.
Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, bell pepper, sage, peppermint, eucalyptus and smoke.
Full bodied with medium acidity and beautiful long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherries, figs, cloves, herbs, earth, cola, vanilla, oak, spices, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, bell pepper, tobacco, beef jerky and peppercorn.
Long finish with firm tannins and black pepper.
An elegant, Single Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile, with lots of complexity and fitness, but not fully balanced yet.
Still young now, but very enjoyable by itself, and better with BBQ Meats. I paired it with a cheese platter, crackers and nice company.
Grapes are grown at the foot hills of the Andes Mountains, on stony soils. 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc.
14.5% alcohol by volume. — 10 years ago
Beautiful wine. Just finished dinner, a great find at a local winery in Ventura. I have had the privilege to visit this town and enjoy some similar local vineyards. — 11 years ago
For the price point, this Big Dog can definitely hunt! Soft pepper and smooth tannins, slight black cherry make this a winner with Ferrero Rocher and House of Lies. — 11 years ago
Cali Zin with refinement. Very nice. Need to get more of this. — 12 years ago

Had the 1988 vintage fantastic mix of ripe plum with touches of prunes, a little green bell pepper on the nose and slight spicy note of black pepper. Well balanced tannins, garnet shade — 9 years ago
2012 vintage... red bell pepper on the nose. Full of bell peppers throughout, and hint of dark fruit. Savory and lots of acidity to balance the soft tannins. I gave this. 8.9, but brother in law thinks it's a 9.1. — 9 years ago
Dark ruby red with a purplish hue. Good dark fruits on the nose with some forest floor and truffles. Light bell peppers in the finish. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Lots of soft dark fruits and damp leaves. Medium plus finish. Great restaurant wine and solid Sonoma Cabernet. Drink till 2022. — 10 years ago

Classic south island Sauvignon Blanc. Full of fresh fruit, grapefruit, stone fruit, peaches, crisp bell peppers, and cut grass. Very elegant, fresh, and finished very dry. — 11 years ago
fvck Miles. he never had a medlock merlot! dusty chocolate plum and enriching finish — 12 years ago

Really nice and soft. Well balanced and goes down easily. — 12 years ago
At first, cassis and cherry shine on the expressive and generous nose. But soon lovely notes of treebark, licorice, forestfloor and grilled bell-pepper add in.
Slightly slender and feminine on the mid-palate, this wine could use some more flesh and stuffing.
Wine definately scores on the nose! — 9 years ago
Nice smooth body 😉.
Jokes aside was shocked how good this Syrah is. Full bodied, chocolate covered in cherries (yes that way around) with a hint of cherries covered in chocolate mixed in with some plums (tastes like ripen in plum barrels?). Good intensity!
Goes well with spicy food , it stands it's ground in regards to density and volume. And taste. love it!

Such an amazing wine. Red and black fruit both ripe and dried characteristics. Strong bell pepper but perfectly integrated with the oak and secondary notes. — 9 years ago
Blackberry, blueberry compote, bell pepper, haystack, barnyard, black peppercorns, pottery soil, clay. Perfect acid/wide smooth velvet tannin grip, juicy texture, light/medium bodied, peppery-smoky-earthy finish. Definitely funky with just the right amount of fruit. Character for days. — 10 years ago

Have yet to have an EK bottle disappoint. This is in a fantastic window right now. So good. From the winery; ‘In the glass, the 2013 Small Town Pinot is a very pretty medium garnet color. Explosive aromas of crushed red cherry, forest floor and spice abound, followed by an outright party of ripe cranberry, strawberry, black plum and rhubarb pie on the palate. All rounded out by hints of juniper berry, nutmeg and cloves. A hair riper than last year, but no less graceful, there’s a pleasant sense of all-around finesse.’ All ringing true tonight. Loved this. — 9 years ago
