My neighbor who is a Scotch guy brought this out. He wasn’t so keen on it. I liked it. Cranberry with a splash of smokiness. — 5 months ago

Arlyn Vineyard Gamay Noir 2018

If I was tasting blind, I would’ve said RRV Pinot. Aromas of cola, red fruit and cloves. Those aromas transferred to my palate where they were met by a healthy dose of acid. An extended finish. Despite a reasonable 13.5% alcohol, at about 3 hours it stared to make its presence known. — 9 months ago

Domaine Amaury Beaufort

Brut Nature Les Jardins de la Porte de Troyes Chardonnay - Pinot Noir Blend

Very interesting comparison of grower champagnes. Vincey Marne closest to traditional, very Apple intense, a bit reductive, long on lies, complex . Beaufort very reductive, 100 pct alive, yeasty, incredible depth. The rose almost tastes like a Belgian kriek from a very good house. So much more interesting than the big houses but expensive. — 9 months ago

It’s a lovely Oregon Chardonnay. I liked the smokey, toasty reduced character which seemed a voice in a chorus of preserved lemon, tangerine and green apple. Nice acidity - refreshing and complex — 6 years ago

Vineyard 1869 Old Vine Zinfandel 2021

Truncated family party notes. This wine was so relaxed and comfortable in its skin. Deep flavors. Soft, luxurious texture. Vines this old are so quietly confident they don’t feel the need to try to impress anyone. I hope I reach this state someday. — 8 months ago
