The 2022 Viognier K Art Den Hoed is spicy in the glass, wafting up with exotic florals, lime and young peach. It’s nearly glycerol in feel, with saline minerals and zesty acidity to balance. Sour citrus offsets ripe pit fruits. This tapers off spicy with medium-length and dried apricot notes. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2023) — 8 months ago
My first impressions of the 2020 Pégau “Cuvée Reservée”. I brought this bottle to Tasting Group and presented it double-blind to the crew, for science! The wine pours a deep ruby with a translucent core. Moderate staining of the tears; high viscosity. On the nose: the wine is moderate intensity; developing. Ripe cherry and bramble fruits with some strawberry, anise, exotic spices, garrigue, and lavender. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium+ tannin and medium+ acid and medium+ alcohol. The tannins are super grippy. The finish is long, herby and there is a streak of black pepper. Whoa…this is a gorgeously expressive wine! Some felt it was 1er cru Burg. Other thought something form Italy: Brunello or CCR. Only one, the only Advanced Somm in the group, called CdP, but he called 2016. Having had many 2016’s recently, I can see where he was coming from. But make no mistake, this will age well despite it’s current approachability. Drink now to enjoy its youth before it potentially (likely) shuts down. Otherwise, this will drink well for 10-15+ years. — a year ago

Nice enough as a wine, but can’t say that it has either the green pepper or the somewhat “purple”ish qualities of cab franc that I’ve come to expect from the Loire and Napa, respectively. Maybe too old? This was a gift and so not sure what the storage conditions were, slightly stewed. Still nice pairing with chicken thighs with olives and feta. — 3 months ago
Tropical fruit, white grapefruit, flowers, sea spray, baking spices, Chantilly cream, green peppercorns, and hints of chalky minerals. Lengthy, smooth finish. Perhaps more aromatic with less concentrated fruit than the 2017. Australia once again showing its strength for super complex, outstanding Chardonnay without the Napa or Burgundy prices.
Worth noting critics rating this 94-98 pts. With the increased aromatics, I prefer it ever slightly to the 2017. — 6 months ago

The oak seems more pronounced than the last I’ve tried one. Still one of the best chards from Australia that I’ve had. — 10 days ago
