Château Pouget

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Last tasted about six months ago. Then, it was light-bodied pushing a concentrated cherry focus with a dusty, lingering finish. Now, a bit more weight is evident. Still elegant but with the cherry dialed down from a boil to a simmer, there’s just enough tannins to make this cellar-worthy. A good choice for complex food pairings since it comes across as relatively simple but beauty stays in the picture and you can easily rock this without that tawdry concept known as grub. — 2 years ago

Patrimoio Rosé 2017

Salty, crunchy, blood orange, and lemon citrus, mineral inflected attack that fans out to salt and fruit in the finish. Not for everyone but a nice change from your typical rose. — 3 years ago

Encinas Bierzo Mencia 2017

Paella night! I know we’re supposed to do Rioja, but Bierzo is on the table tonight. Cracked pepper & blackberry nose. Full bodied, more dark berries and smoky notes cross the mid palate. Structured, but very approachable and enjoyable right now. — 4 years ago
