Lovely. Sweet. Light. — 6 years ago
White truffle and biscuity yeast-ness. Brioche, lemon and cooked lime, clean floral reminiscent of magnolia, but much less pungent. Immediate lemon curd, lemon zest and pith atop the aforementioned brioche, and a chalky minerality to the texture. Nice, sustained resonance of pomelo and lime. — 6 years ago
Surprising. Fruit-forward but not overwhelming, nice tannic balance, low-medium acid. — 7 years ago

2016 vintage, purchased it based on previous year's reviews. GO purchase under $5. Wow, I will buy a case & age it for 4-7 years. There's tropical fruit and Alsatian minerals somewhere hiding. Would love to see what this vineyard could do with a late harvest Chenin Blanc from Oregon or Wa. Frizzante was an unexpected, yet appreciated touch. — 7 years ago
Impressive for Lufthansa to serve this independent Champagne in their first class! — 8 years ago
Started out like wet autumn leaves, but soon opened up. Lots of spice, nuts, hint of liquerice, and toasted orange peel. Still got a decent amount of acid and tannins. Definetly worth a gurgle. — 9 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is the Weisserberg bottling. Having enjoyed the 2015s (a very different vintage) while in Berlin a few years back, I grabbed a few of these 2014s online upon returning home. The first couple bottles were underwhelming - very austere, lacking fruit and with a degree of minerality and acid that nearly stripped the enamel off my teeth. This last bottle, however, enjoyed a couple years later, suggests the wines were simply opened too young. There is now fruit here in spades - ripe orchard fruits and citrus, and a delightful green herbal character. Delightful stony minerality, and at this age some petrol is starting to develop. Acid is still providing nice structure. Nothing life changing but I’m glad I was able to see this through it’s early-mid range development. — 5 years ago
Pontet Canet tasting and dinner with Alfred Tesseron.
The 13 was a brutal tannin vintage when I tasted it at En Premier. The tannins are still bitty but, nothing like they were out of barrel.
The fruit in the 13 shows the difficulty in the vintage. They are duller and it’s really stands out from other vintages and not in a good way.
It’s lean and there is nothing that really draws you in. Fruits are; dark cherries, rhubarb, blackberries, some blueberries@and the strawberries show some ripeness the other do not. Lots of dry earth, dry stones, some herbs, dark withering florals, decent acidity and a uneventful dry finish.
Photos of; Clyde and Alfred at the bar, their Amphora style cement tanks they ferment part of each vintage now, road signs of the good neighbors they keep and Chateau Pontet Canet. — 6 years ago
Charming, ethereal body, zesty acidity, apricot, Golden Delicious apples, nectarines, and well integrated RS. All this loveliness at just 8%ABV. This will just get better with age. — 7 years ago
Fruktigt, friskt och gott vin! — 7 years ago
Really enjoyed this wine. We had it with a stuffed pizza. It is from Incognito Wines from Ukiah, CA. Pleasant aroma and a smooth taste. — 8 years ago
