Lovely fully mature Barolo. The 85s are often on the decline, and this one may not be at peak, but wonderful balance, clear fruit, with a shorter finish than I recall from earlier bottles. 1 of 3 from a very nice dinner last night. — 2 years ago

Dark tawny color. Powerful nose. Notes of black plum, tea, roses, black earth and some anise. Balanced. Rounded out over 8 hours. In a great zone right now. Everything you want in a nicely aged Barolo. Give it its needed air. — 6 years ago

Probably my favourite producer of Barolo...never had a bad bottle. This is young with bracing tanins but it is already so approachable. Cherries, leather and menthol dominate but there is so much depth. Lovely wine! — 9 months ago

Really strong Barolo from 2004. Nice red fruit on the nose and palate. Smooth but with a great acidity. Served with porterhouse, roasted mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. — 6 years ago

I love this wine. It’s one of my everyday quaffers. This ‘15 Barbera offers an (almost) Aldo Conterno concentration of classic flavours but lacks the oak treatment, so way much more Barbera nekedness involved here. — 6 years ago
