Wine of the night. This wine had EXCELLENT fruit, and showed NO VISIBLE SIGNS of decline. Great powerful blackberry. I was guessing 01 Stag's Leap or Rutherford. Turns out it was Caymus SS 01, but I was second guessing myself on the year because it was a very purple color into the decanter and showing well. The wine had great vanilla on the front, blackberry on the front, and a more youthful middle and finish with some herb. This wine has 10 years left in it no doubt. Whoever cut this one off at 2017 has no idea. This one literally showed no signs of decline whatsoever. Drink by date 2007 - 2030. — 9 years ago
A lot young but amazing wine. Massive but balanced. 10 years time it will be mental — 10 years ago
This is some seriously good Cabernet. Even though it is 10 years old, and eminently drinkable straight out of the bottle, it improves by at least an order of magnitude of you let it breathe for an hour or two. Highly recommended. — 11 years ago

CAYMUS Caberet Sauvignon Napa Valley. We drank this with Billie and Rob at Capital Grill in Shops of Legacy. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I would rank it a 10+ — 7 years ago
Quite lovely on our first night in Portugal for the wife’s birthday! Scored 2 points higher due to the sleeping gentleman in the picture :) #firstfamilyvacation — 8 years ago
Deep garnet red with lots of bricking on the edges. Light cassis and dark cherries on the nose with some tertiary notes like earthiness and damp leaves. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Lots of complexity with light cassis and dark cherries, a little bit of tomato leaves and earthiness. Very well rounded and integrated with a long finish. This will only keep losing fruit and get earthier with time. Drink now. — 9 years ago

Absolutely superb. Youthful color. Lively. Complex. Great fruit. Structure remains. Will go 10-15 more years. — 11 years ago
I was so excited to open this 2006 Leoville Barton. The color was ruby red and dark crimson. Almost black. It opened very hot with just a short decant. The nose showed amazing cherry, raspberry, cocoa and coffee notes. On the palate the tannins are very evident. There are obvious dark berries and even some earthy vegetables and tobacco. Over the course of 2hrs it really came into its own and showed its meddle. This is a great wine and, in my opinion, a great value. While a bit young, this wine a still great now and will be amazing in 10 yrs. — 10 years ago
Alexander Valley 1984. Brown brick red, still enough tannin for another 5-10 yrs. Beautiful cedary dust and fruit. Needed 1 - 1 1/2 hrs to open up. Harmonious, medium build. — 11 years ago
