Huge wine with massive power and structure and tannins that just rip your face off. After an advance 5 hour decent the wine begins to show itself beautifully with dried violets and tar, red cherries, dried prune, exotic spices and just the right about of earth integration. The wine finishes superbly long and silky with fine acidity.

Still thinking about this wine days later, definitely more feminine as a barbaresco, it is loaded with crushed fresh Violets and slight road tar. Didn't need the steak beside it

This evolved tremendously over 45 minutes but needed much more time to open up and come together. The nose was incredibly complex with truffle and ripe black fruit at the front. The palate was wound up, ripe, and alcoholic. The tannins were tight and the acid was low. Med + length. Needs time for the palate to develop. #gaja #langhe #nebbiolo #italy #ctbucklinwine

Muscular start and the benefit of two hours decant turned to a long silk finish with licorice, earth, bright berry finish. Could lay down another 10 years easily. But patience was never my long suit

Just a beautiful wine. Feminine, seductive, roses, violets, cherry and earthiness

This was very balanced & tightly structured that reminded me of a 1st growth Bordeaux with aromas of black fruit, mocha, graphite, rose petal & a satiny finish on the palate.
