Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

Really pretty old school pomerol. Lovely weighting and perfume.

Still sooo young. Decanted. As it opened up the aromatics of Cab Franc and a tart plummy Merlot mid-palate began to emerge from green tannins. Delicious and demands revisiting in a decade or so.

Absolutely lovely aged Pomerol, cedar, redfruits, soft, resolved tannins, long, lingering finish, only thing missing is that sweetness that a great bottle-aged wine can show at maturity (maybe is the 1994 vintage?).

One of the better 94’s I have tried. This is still youthful & needed an hour of air to to show red & black fruits, plum, cedar, earth, mineral, lead pencil, spice box & tobacco. This btl came out of an owc purchased on release.

I remember the 94 being the 1st vintage that was recommended to buy on futures after a string of bad vintages in Bordeaux 91,92,93.
This showed notes of black fruits, leather, earth, sweet spices & tobacco. Very enjoyable

Lots of black fruits, mineral, lead pencil, with a smokey tarry & menthol note in a slightly austere style.

Finally, a solid cork unlocks why I can’t not love Bordeaux. This bottle has a weak nose but strong finish. #pomerol typicity.
