Elements of palate mirror the nose, including notes of dried lemon peel, cedar and sweet tobacco. Regal.

It’s going to be a hell of a month, culminating in hell week so, let’s keep things light! Or, auf Deutsch: hell. Let us roll in the hay on our very first day! Straw and clean wheat kernel, sesame seed and sunflower, a tiny spot of sugar dropped on light toast. Hell. The palate suggests a bread that is both and neither pausbröt nor cracker. Our sesame stands slightly toasted, and our bread is now zested with clean lemon citrus, but just for color. Just right for first night and ever so light!

Beige and fluffy pour turned porous and sparse with just a cat’s paw print remaining. Really ready for Oktoberfest, so jumping the pond early this year. Subtle cardamom, and pine notes atop orange peel and honey bread on oak leaves waft from the dark, reddish-amber of this dunkel. Cherry pit, lemon tea, rye, and applewood with a dusting of aspirin that yields to a yeast and honey over cigarette paper. Mineral elements suggest silver and nickel. Yellow amber with a bubbly white dissipating head, Rocky horror lips lacing. Lime-led and lemon finished clean freak nose has white bread subtleties. Damn delicious palate has a mild sweetness, but lager-clean and refreshing. Great style, great care and restraint here!

Schlossbrauerei Hohenthann L. Rauchenecker. Puffy, fluffy jiffy pop shaped top above still yellow amber. Battle of the venomous maws lacing. Reptilian nose, shows snake leather, lightly browned breadstick, grape leaf, lemon in a green olive cloak, lanolin, clementine pith web. Damn fine beer shows toasted white bread, cashew, madeleine, pear, lemon verbena, lemon oil, dandelion.

Shadowy red amber, nearly translucent, coconut meat-colored head with winged lacing of butterflies and descending birds that morph to blobs. Honey tea and Hawaiian bread sweetness on the nose, with lemon, and orange zest. Tea and dinner roll compete and dark pretzel is evoked. Oregano flecks dryly; sesame, corn meal and baked black olive. What month is it? Sept..Okt...No...longest year ever! Just end. Good beer, needs greasy meats. .

Lime shines on entry, phyllo, croissant flake, dehydrated green bean, winter wheat, lemon, lemon pith and orange peel. Hard to deny this lager’s greatness. A joy to drink.
