Wicker Vineyards

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2014

Small production wine. This wine is crisp and lively on the front end and a full mouthful on the mid-palate. A hint of oak compliments the finish. Killer Chard. — 4 years ago

Hope Family Wines

Treana Central Coast Chardonnay 2014

Scent of butter. Nice new wallet. Kitchen store cutting board with traces of plum juice. Autumn- but also winter turning to spring (sweater over shorts). Wicker picnic basket. Meadow. Instrumental music that’s female jazz- not studio/controlled but breezy and free form natural. -if it had a soundtrack. Ripe pear. Crusty bread with triple ripe cheese. Magic lamp? Lobster salad! This is a reasonable bottle of lovely buttery quaffable wine. — 6 years ago

Quinta do Noval

Over 40 Year Old Tawny Porto

Sampled at Noval's tasting room in Porto, the Noval 'Quarenta Anos' 40 Year Old Tawny is translucent and brickish, replete with developed notes of dates, Dalmatia fig spread, dried apples, aged leather, and warm wicker. In the mouth it's viscous and full, more so than Noval's Colheita, it's the acidity that really brings this Port to life, an arching spine that penetrates through layers of oxidized fruit notes and finely polished tannins. On the finish, dried Zante currants, nut skins. Allspice. 21.5% ABV | Sample — 8 years ago

Renaissance Vineyard & Winery

Mediterranean Red Rhone Blend 2006

50% Mourvedre, 25% Syrah, 25% Grenache, biodynamic, hand picked fruit. (Rating 9.2-9.3)

Thank you for being present then, to be my present now. Great Job!

Amazing 14 year old GSM from California. Cherry notes are surprisingly fresh and vibrant, well balanced (acid/tannin) delicious dark notes in the background (leather, chocolate, tannin). Fruity without being sweet. “With 0.4% residual sugar — not so much to make it even remotely sweet or turn it into a stereotype of a California fruit bomb, but enough to render it tender” - Wicker Parker - 11.01.2010 http://www.renaissancewinery.com/scripts/winepg.cfm/_/8/2006/Mediterranean-Red/

Nice!

Leah Jørgensen Cellars

Les Collines Cabernet Franc

This is the second bottle I've tasted from Leah Jørgensen, on finishing my glass, I can honestly say her wines leave me with more questions than answers. The 2014 Tour Rain reminds me of some of my favorite wines from the Bourgueil. With a brilliant dark magenta robe, this Oregon Cab Franc is seductive and multifaceted. Dusky plums and Queen Anne's cherries are couched in layers of dried rose petals, pomander ball, cinnamon bark and brown spice. It's medium-bodied, beautifully balanced and concise. Tart cherries, sweet tobacco, warm wicker. All of which leads me to wonder, who is this young winemaker? She's definitely one to watch in Oregon's evolving wine scene. 13.4% ABV | Sample — 7 years ago

Swamp Head Brewery

Big Nose India Pale Ale

Antique-golden amber just under opaque. Home air filter head that dissolved like culinary foam. Rusty can of honey, date bread, candied grapefruit peel, caramelized banana, a tiny suggestion of spray adhesive and very pleasant lemongrass soap, baked pineapple alongside fresh rind of pineapple. Very aromatic. Allspice and nutmeg entry stay in the bitter stratosphere with a wicker basket taste beneath this bitter orange balloon. A bit of palatal rhinoplasty is needed here to navigate over the summit of this big stone nose and its flat grapefruit, orange peel and bitter pecan. Watch the treetops! We’re losing altitude! #swampheadbrewery #swamphead #floridabeer #florida #beer #ipa #ale #abv #ibu — 6 years ago

De Martino

Legado Reserva Carménère 2016

David T
9.2

More elegance & beauty than the Estate.

On the nose; dark currants, strawberries, dark soils, black licorice and dark, fresh, perfumed florals.

On the palate; dark currants, candied fruits of; black cherries, blackberries, black raspberries and strawberries. Gummy fruits, black licorice, black raspberry cola, hint of black olive, nice easy tannins, crushed rock powder, leather, loamy soils, great acidity and a long, elegant, polished finish.

Photos of; Estate vines, landscape around the property and old wicker baskets used long ago to move fruit into the Viña.

Yum love Carmenère wine!

Lighthall Vineyards

Progression Ontario Sparkling Vidal 2013

Wine tasting notes: night time dock, wicker, exhaled tobacco smoke, bubbles. Finish of screen doors slamming and clothes rustling. Pairs best with the noise static used to make from your TV after the national anthem, and boobs. — 8 years ago
