Drank most of my ‘94’s young when I first got in the biz. Did not get the hype. As time moved on realized that ‘93 was superior vintage for Willamette Valley. But, Russ Raney killed it with this wine. Lovely, youthful, floral, savory and long. Perfect aged Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir. — 8 years ago

This is an excellent example of honey, vanilla, toasted brioche, and very elegant body. Refined bubbles reminiscent of the Dom Ruinart.

Bright and a tad hot. Some pepper/spice. Cherry cola with soft tannins and a TON of acidity. Almost an effervescence which never hurts my feelings. Smells candy sweet but drinks with a bit more maturity. — 4 years ago

1999 Pahlmeyer Merlot. Side-by-side comparison with 2004 Colgin Jubilation during dinner w McC at S. Affair. This was thin, flat, and musty at first, but really came around in the glass. Fruit cake out and the wine softened a bit. Lacked roundness and was def not as good as the ‘97 Pahlmeyer we had a couple of weeks ago w J&J D. — 8 years ago
