Vinicola Del Sannio

La Guardiense

Janare Falanghina del Sannio

No formal notes - from half bottle. I have always loved the rich flavoursome notes of Falanghina from the Campania region of Italy with notes of honeysuckle and pear. Impossible not to like. — 2 years ago

Sciasci Aglianico 2010

Sciascinoso and Aglianico blend, which are varietals native to Campania. Intense ruby with cherry and floral notes. Great example from one of the best and creative wine lists in Toronto or anywhere, hands down. 91+

@Palmer Emmitt Hi Bud! I'll look this one up! If you say it's good then its golden in my book!
By the way., you should not be so humble! Uncork your 2011 Georges & post it!!!!
One of the absolute best 2011's I have ever had......ever! I'm not bullshitting. I haven't posted it yet because I haven't received my allocation due to high temps in S. FL.
It was my favorite during our tasting and I can't wait to get the case I ordered.
All kidding aside guys.., call him tomorrow's and order it before it's gone. Truly insanely lush. Awesomeness in a glass & by far the absolutely BEST priced Georges Cab in Napa. I literally dare you to find me one that is better. Yes......it's that good! Call Palmer Emmitt for pricing info on a case purchase. I've never led you wrong on a wine. Trust me on this one! It's the undiscovered gem 💎 in Napa.

Fontanavecchia

Falanghina del Sannio

A pleasant surprise. Light to medium bodied, with some lemony citrus and nutty flavors. Soft finish. Acidity and minerality all good. Really enjoyed it with pasta e ceci ( even though half way through making it I realized i had no chickpeas and substituted cannelloni beans. ) — 4 years ago

Trebulanum Terre del Volturno IGT Casavecchia 2012

Old school rustic Italian, quite dark fruited, salty. Medium body. Very tannic on the back end, very structured wine. Substantial acid. Needs a couple hours of air to come together and show properly. Pair with 🍝 for a pretty pretty good time. // turns into something special on day 2 — 7 years ago

I applaud your patience to get to day two on so many wines here.
Turd Ferguson

Turd Ferguson

@Jenks honestly, most red wine I drink these days I prefer on day 2. When I open a bottle I usually immediately decant half of it to my trusty 375, cork it, and stick it in the fridge. 2-3-4 days later these babies sing!
Turd Ferguson

Turd Ferguson

@Jenks the bigger, more conventional red wines I mean. The super natty, lighter / carbonic / no SO2 stuff doesn't usually hold up so I pound that. Heyo.
