Nice full bodied red. Pairs nicely with roasted / grilled red meats. — 7 months ago
80% Baga with 20% Touriga National blended in. Only made in select vintages. Dark ruby color throughout. Bright and concentrated red fruit notes on both the nose and palate. Hints of red flowers, baking spices, minerals, garrigue and tobacco. Extremely long finish. Beautiful balance even at 18 years of age. Acidity and tannins have harmonized beautifully. Fresh tasting and still quite powerful. I do not understand why the Baga grape has such a poor reputation. Every Quinta de Foz de Arouce wine made from this grape that I have had the pleasure of tasting has been exceptional. — 3 years ago

Haven’t had a Syrah in awhile. Spicy, cinnamon, dry. Good dry red. Costco buy. — 7 years ago

Citrus, floral notes and minerality. Very balanced. — 5 months ago
Very fresh nose - green vines and fresh air, a bit of acetone. Red fruit, nice but not terribly complex. — 9 months ago
For those who like to venture off the beaten trail. Plays in the space of Chardonnay, Chenin, and Sauvignon Blanc, with new vibes, distinct combinations of flavors and aromas. Little hints of lemon and sugar coated dried pineapple cubes. A drop of pine and minty celery seed bitters. Creamy and acidic. Ripe big flavors with real intensity. — 5 years ago
Dry yet a bit of fruitiness — 6 years ago
This is enormous. Forest fruit. Plucked a Douro in a blind taste. One of the better Portuguese wines I have had. — 7 years ago
On a really hot day, full of Canadian smoke( Export A’s, anyone), thunderstorms and possible tornadoes, this vino zaps you into focus. Strawberries and vaguely Italian like Cherries on the nose mingled with earth, feet, and some umami on the palate. At first, the acidity is bracing. But with food a unified whole emerges.Perfect with Bacon & Lemon roasted Trout.Cuts right through the fats without overpowering your buds. Very glou glou at 11.5°.Raise a glass to Portugal!
With Randy.

wines i didn't pick but are supposedly choosed according to my taste.
i let my son cover them in tinfoil then i open and try to guess.
this one is a north Portuguese white blend made from three indigenous varieties :
bical, cercial and sercialinho
12.5% abv
medium + to full body with mostly citrus variety and hinted stone fruit.
it's power and lack of tropics made me guess it's 🇫🇷 sauvignon blanc. but its so sharp i was thinking chablis is another option.
it's so balanced i thought maybe some oak sorted it all out.
i was confused but impressed.
impressive punch all in all.
paired well with medicore Asian take away of sushi, pad thai and plain white rice.
