Red fruit, super drinkable. — 8 months ago
Popped and poured on July 4th after enjoying the day’s frivolities; enjoyed over the following few days and consistent throughout. The 2011 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe dark fruits: plums, brambles, cassis, espresso, mushrooms, leather, purple flowers, toe jam, earth and Christmas fruit cake. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose though the fruit comes across much fresher on the palate. The finish is medium+. The texture is soft and super silky. Despite 2011 being a challenging vintage from a Napa perspective, this was quite distinctive and complex, though maybe lacking a bit of stuffing. Stylistically however, this Kapcsándy is a refreshing take on a modern Napa Valley, Cabernet-based blend at a svelte 13.9% ABV. Bravo! Drink now through 2031. — 10 months ago
A glass full of violets. Tannic finish. Complex. Don’t let it open too long or oxidizes quickly. — 4 years ago
Great Mas de Daumas Gassac with age. Claud has the 2014 on the main list and the 2013 on the longer list. Same price! Great call to get the 2013. Nice, fresh, rich. Had with an assortment of seafood starters (red shrimp, hamachi) and with the ham with sunchokes and chicken liver agnoloti. — 2 months ago
Very nice balance of the grapes. Pairs well with grilled chicken and pork. — 6 months ago
Stellar. Amazing quality for the price from a unicorn producer. — 7 months ago
The hype is real. Reduction on PnP with an energetic acid drive that kept building over an hour. Tropical fruits, herbs de Provence, oiled gears. Wow. — 9 months ago
The QPR across the Daumas lineup has always astounded me, & this rose sparkling is no different: fine mouse & a clean, detailed palate, all fresh cut strawberries. Nice balance too between dry & fruitiness,& just enough heft to carry this past a toast into a first course. — 3 years ago
