Vinas Viejas Valle de la Orotova Listan Negro 2016

Sight: Interesting unique color, light cherry red and turbid eye.
Nose: mushrooms and chocolate!!, spiced, minerals and unique banana aroma. Fresh red fruits.
Taste: medium-high tannin, medium intensity, moderate finish and nice acidity. Amazing for a 2016 wine.
Thanks, mi amigo

Los Loros Valle de Güimar Tinto Edicion Especial Red Blend

Farty, funky cherry cola. Touch of burned rubber. Let’s see if that dissipates. Truffles, sage, & thyme. Interesting stuff. — 3 years ago

Interesting Canary Islands listan blanco. I’m still not sure I could eloquently describe reduction in a wine but I can tell you that this seems to be a good example of it. Still quite balanced. Doesn’t have the acid intensity I generally look for but enjoyed it. — a year ago

Nice! We just got some of these from NY. Friends had it in Spain and recommended highly.

Quite a nice listan negro dominated blend from the Canary Islands. Great restrained fruit, excellent peppery earthy note, not overwhelming at all but complete. Good pairing with a variety of food at shukette. — 2 years ago

I got the 2019 ....Traditionally excellent ! ... Aromatic, dark cherry, coffee, pine, wild flowers, eucalyptus, peppery, smoky, mineral, humid volcanic goodness ... Bold and round I don’t give it a 10 bec of the short punch that let you wishing for more... This is the taste of a Lazy afternoon siesta under vineyards next to the sea... — 3 years ago

There really is something about island wines. We seem to have an affinity to them all—Madeira, Corsica, Sicily...and here we with are with Canary sack. Red, actually, with terrific poise, balance, and expression of terroir. Double decanted and enjoyed on the second day. Funky nose, with some sweet fruit mixed in. Peppery palate, wet stone, easy fruit, and great acidity. Another winner. — 5 years ago
