Very nice. Pencil graphite blackberry but a bit thin. — 4 months ago
Drinking very well right now (2024). Critics said to drink up but I found it still having strong fruit balancing the dirt. Reminded me of some lovely aged Bordeaux I've had in the past. I'd enjoy now or over the next few years if you're lucky enough to have any bottles. Cheers! — 5 months ago
Big & bold. Ripe dark fruit, spice, etc…Evolved yet still developing. Really loved the complex tertiary flavors starting to appear. One complaint: WHOPPING 14.7%! — 6 months ago
Really hanging in there for. 15 yr old Cab. Fruit is still there will soft tannins. — 9 months ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short purplish rim.
On the nose blackberries, black cherries, earth, black plums, cedar leather, vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity, with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth, chocolates tobacco, spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up.
This 6 year old is still young, but already very enjoyable. From the great 2016 vintage, and it is showing.
As it opens up (two hours), more complexity and structure come in, well worth being patient. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Robert Parker 98 points.
Ripe and fruit forward. Extracted and rich. A gorgeous wine.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
94 points.

This wine is an absolute standout, delivering a rich and full-bodied experience that doesn't disappoint. From the first sip, it bursts with deep berry flavors, offering a perfect balance of ripe fruit and complexity. Hints of tobacco and licorice add depth, while a subtle touch of chocolate rounds out the finish beautifully. The structure is bold yet smooth, making every glass an indulgent experience — 2 months ago
Englishman Jonathan Maltus (of La Dome) Napa project. Nose shows blackcurrant, plum, cassis, pencil shavings, and clove with a herbaceous undertone. Juicy with medium to full body. Velvety tannins. Stylish, but lacking a bit of depth and complexity. — 4 months ago
Gotta agree with my previous notes. Great wine. Drinking really well right now. — 6 months ago

Treated by a great friend who opened this incredible bottle. A celebration of refined, jammy, bold goodness. — a year ago

The last time I had this was at The French Laundry trying to convince someone to support a nonprofit I love. The subsequent gift was generous but, somehow, underwhelming. This wine is like that. A great vintage, a great vineyard, in great hands, but it had so much more potential. I’m not whining about a 97-point wine; I’m lucky to enjoy it. But it could’ve been even more. — 5 months ago
2014 vintage. Excellent fill and cork. Not decanted. Tasted after 1.25 hours open. The best red I’ve ever tasted from Paul Hobbs (and have had approx 125 samples over the years-including the high-end bleep). In a really admirable place currently between integration and balance, fruit and tannins. Will it improve? Doubtful. Can it hold steady for a spell? Definitely. Not exactly the biggest fan of what consists of To Kalon/Tokalon juice/interpretation these days vs the 60’s/70’s/80’s/earlyish 90’s but this was phenomenal. Medium body with respectable sed. A mullet wine…all business up front with a party on the back palate. Color me surprised and impressed. 11.8.24. — 6 months ago
Absolutely loved the detail on the bottle. Had this with some very fatty ribeyes and just absolutely hit it out of the park. A deep nose it almost comes off. Still hot with alcohol, but dry forest floor and rich garrique scents. Very bold and rich with ripe bursting plum, Rosemary, thyme, and butter, definitely enough structure to hold up against a good thick steak. Can’t believe this thing is 11 years old and still kicking it. — 9 months ago

Dark, viscous motor oil and blackberry. Tasty, but needs another 8yr or so. — 2 months ago
