One of the best value wines ever. Beautiful fruit and balance. — 8 years ago
When it comes to my B-day, there is only one fit, an old Pichon Lalande with my Ribeye. As a lover of Bordeaux, these two are my favorite pairing. It’s a very slow walk to the finishline. A small bite of steak and a sip of 89 Pichon Lalande. Then, repeat until finished. I had some concerns about this bottle. A slightly slippery and crumbling cork. The first sip was not bad, but not what you want or are expecting. After some time in the decanter, it really started to shine. On the nose; ripe, ruby, floral cassis, blackberries, dark sweet & sour cherries, baked strawberries, blue fruit hues, dry cranberries, baked rhubarb, saddlewood, soft, used leather, bay leaf, touch of sage, hint of spearmint, eucalyptus, vanilla, cinnamon, crushed dry crushed rock powder, black turned earth, dry brown soil with clay, tobacco leaf and perfumed red florals with violets. The body is full, round and silky. Tannins are well resolved at around 80%. The texture, length, tension and length are in a sweet spot. The fruits are ripe, ruby & expressively floral. Blackberries, dark sweet & sour cherries, baked strawberries, blue fruit hues, dry cranberries, baked rhubarb, saddlewood, soft, used leather, bay leaf, touch of sage, hint of spearmint, eucalyptus, vanilla, cinnamon, crushed dry crushed rock powder, black turned earth, dry brown soil with clay, scorched earth, tobacco leaf and perfumed red florals with violets. The acidity is just a little off but still nice. The finish is divided nearly equally in fruit, earth, florals and herbaceous. It’s very enjoyable but falls just a little short in longer, lingering length. This bottle had good storage, not great. Even so, still has another three to five years ahead. A bottle with excellent storage has another five years beyond this one. Now quite evolved at nearly twenty years of age, the 2002 Lange Estate ‘Three Hills Cuvee’ marvelously showcases this incredible vintage in Oregon as the wine is showing brilliantly right now. The palate is plush and dense, showing wonderful range and tension. Black fruits, citrus rind, pomegranate seed and black truffle. Complex and delicious, this is right in its sweet spot. The wine shows good mid-palate richness and is nowhere near finished as this will cellar well for the next decade. Drink 2019-2028- 93 — 7 years ago
On tap. One of the original greats. Dank, juicy, crunk. #threefloyds #paleale — 8 years ago
A bit out of balance at the moment. Sweet cherry at the finish. New oak? — 8 years ago
K, this rating is certainly biased by my past experience with A. Rafanelli which has been amazing. Unless you want to open 2015 and allow to sit a couple days...wait! This is too young to be opened which makes me grateful I have another bottle I’ll crack open in, say, a year or so and it’ll be perfect out of the bottle. That said I tasted this day by day for three days and it just kept improving. If you open too young give it TIME. In youth it needs some time but once it has time? Hot damn. The tannins, alcohol, acid and fruit are in equal balance three days in...now. Wait two years and it may be extraordinary out of the bottle. — 9 years ago

Congrats on the featured article on Delectable, just noticed it. If only they knew about the cropping incident, you would of been on much sooner.Delicious. Sweet on the nose-maple syrup, clove and baking spice. Relaxed tannins yet still present. Taste of root-beer, blueberry....just yummy! A finish that delivers well after your done. Drink now! @Bill Price — 10 years ago
Drinking beautifully now. Nose of red berries and cola with just a hint of Pinot funk. One of our favorite producers! — 11 years ago
Delicious wine for a great price. Very good balance of fruity and dry. This is definitely a go-to favorite. — 11 years ago
@LangmeilWinery never seems to fail to deliver. We don't see a wide array of wines but they're definitely a fave. — 13 years ago
Full mouth experience and a delight for a Pinot. Enjoyed at home with a Gouda and salami. Purchased on recommendation of store clerk. $18.99 per bottle. — 8 years ago
The nose is rich, ripe, round with a gummy fruit quality. Dark currants and cassis. Ripe & lush fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, strawberries, black plum, ollieberries, soft well layered baking spices, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, sweet, dark spice, mixed berry cola, crush dry rock powder, dark rich soils, bay leaf/dry herbs and dark fresh dark floral bouquet.
The body is full but so soft and elegant and glides so beautifully over the palate. Ripe, blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, strawberries, black plum, ollieberries, soft well layered baking spices, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, sweet, dark spice, mixed berry cola, crush dry rock powder, dark rich soils, bay leaf/dry herbs and dark fresh dark floral bouquet. The acidity is excellent. The structure, tension, length are really harmonious so young. The finish is so well balanced, elegant, rich ripe and goes on & on.

Wine of the weekend! Only the second time in Diamond Creek’s illustrious history when they’ve blended fruit from all three vineyards. Having tasted all three ‘13s (which are all outstanding wines — RP gave 98, 99, 100 I believe), this bottling is my favorite. Drinking remarkably well today and will just get better with time. Thank you for opening and sharing with us, Cidy! — 8 years ago
Light ruby red. Beautiful color. Intense and rich nose from the pop-n-pour. Plum cherries, red berries, purple floral notes, some cinnamon and a touch of petrol. Great structure on the palate with moderate acidity (6.5/10). Medium to medium plus body with tons of red berries, light broken twigs and wet minerality. Medium plus finish. We believe this is their entry level Pinot. Excellent work. Drink till 2021 — 9 years ago
Lighter red wine with a ripe cherry-juice nose. Slightly sour cherry and blackberry flavors. The clarity of fruit and balanced flavors should age well for at least 5 years — 11 years ago
Massive butter bomb. Origionally served chilled and it showed very well. As it warmed up the malo took over the wine and it became very viscous and greasy on the finish. Serve and keep chilled. I am excited to see what Bob Cabral is going to bring to this project. A dash of structure could make these wines hedonistic as well as well structured. I will be keeping an eye on Three Sticks. — 11 years ago
I dug deep in the cellar for this one, but the '93 Joseph Phelps Red Bordeaux Blend 'Insignia' amply delivered. Decanted for three hours, this dark purple/crimson blend was remarkably fresh and vibrant with lovely scents of black currant, red licorice and eucalyptus. Tons of black cherry, black pepper and cigar box flavors on the palate. Well-balanced and silky smooth on the long aromatic finish. Still plenty of life remaining and I luckily have two more bottles. — 12 years ago

This wine plays the outlaw image to the hilt. Lodi Cab faces off in a dusty street against Napa Cab, the fastest gun in town. They both shoot straight, but in different directions. Three Finger Jack has a nose of rustic black fruit, tar, forest floor, with only a hint of graphite. The palate leans in a more elegant direction, but still stands its ground as an “outsider.” It's a delightful drink, with plenty of pairing power and the tannic structure to prove it. — 7 years ago
