There is really only one grape variety that I know of in the world that deserves to always have an exclamation mark: Juhfark! Or as I like to shout, Juhfaaaaaaaark! (pronounced you-fark). Grown only on the tiny little hill of Somló, an ancient underwater volcano, in Southwestern Hungary, it is among my favorite grape varieties and simply one of the world’s coolest wines. @sap_somlo is one of the best producers of it, coaxing out its bee pollen and chamomile scents and electric neon lemon, citrus peel, and yellow herb flavors, all layered on top of the deep volcanic minerality. The longer you let these wines age, the more they taste like rocks. Tired of the same old flavors in your white wines? Get thee some Juhfark! — 5 years ago

Absolutely delicious. And so cheap. And so posh looking, and feeling. What a great wine. Fruit forward expression of tempranillo, but still Carries the old world@flavour profile you want. Big body. Comparable to a ripasso. Or Megan thee stallion. — 4 years ago

Surprisingly strong initial fruit — 4 years ago
Licorice, tar, blackberries, cherry and a bit of almond on the nose. This is great! The palate is very lovely with some strong acid backbone, a nice tangy cherry all along, a good width with a lovely matter on the sides. It's not thick, it's rather light but very playful and fruity. Some tannins kick in in mid palate which give a bit of a drying effect in a mid palate sphere. It's quite round in there! The finish is all fruits, a bit of bitterness and thee tannins drying up a notch. Very lovely and joyful wine. — 6 years ago

We all know that the 2013 Napa vintage was excellent and this is a fine example of that.
The nose shows; a dark currant core, blackberries, dark, cherries, black raspberries and blueberries, dark, red, blue perfumed florals, settlement, moist clay, softly and layered baking spices.
The palate shows; gently polished, velvety, dusty, round, soft tannins. Gorgeous & perfectly ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries & both plums. baking soda, cinnamon, clove, vanillin, soft, leather, cedar notes, tobacco w/ ash, dry soils, beautiful, blue, dark, red florals framed in violets, grand acidity, wire to wire perfectly well balanced w/even tension/structure, excellently knitted structure and a long two-minute finish and long sets on beautiful, soft earthiness.
