Tasted October 2013
A dry version of Zibibbo (Sicilian name for Muscat of Alexandria) reflected by bewitching siren depicted on the label :)
Aromatic, fresh and vibrant one, grown in Pantelleria on volcanic soils rich in minerals.
Fermented in stainless steel then aged in tanks for 2 months, plus 3 months more in bottles.
Brilliant straw yellow with emerald tints.
Ample and rich bouquet of typical flowery scent of orange and linden blossom, nattaran, peach, touch of sage and rosemary.
Crisp, well-balanced light-plus bodied palate. Refreshing acidity, scented by white grapefruit, melon, nectarine, ripe pear with minerality becomes evident at finish.
Was fine with catfish with ravioli and asparagus. — 9 years ago
2014 | I really crush on Booker wines though I'm certain that I approach them with bias...go ahead and calibrate my score by a one point deduction if you want grave reality for your own wine purchasing decisions. That said, I love the luscious marzipan richness with fresh almond and quince in this roussanne viognier marsanne and PETIT MANSENG white blend. The mid palate takes me to these melons from Weiser Farms - Baroque looking little things, almost perfectly round with an electric citron green flesh and a goldleaf skin with emerald longitudinal stripes - Ogen Melons yum. — 9 years ago
Enjoyed this awesome Rioja wine with Alma and friends at Emerald Lake Lodge in BC, Canada. Served with duck breast and lamb chops and it was a perfect match. Would also go great with a nice steak.
If you can find it give it a try I am confident you will also love it. — 9 years ago
A terrific new wine to the collection of linear, lemon-zest whites grown on the high slopes of Mount Etna; served at #uncorkedandcultivated #wineandfoodtour #sicily2015 opening dinner in Taormina; Santa Maria La Nave Grecanico Dorato 2014; lovely acid length after eyeing the emerald-green, shiny quartz colour; lemon-grass acid zest; linear acidity; a true champion wine to drink; #sicilia #sicily #siciliadoc #mountetna #santamarialanave #grecanicodorato #bianco #2014 #peterscudamoresmithmw — 10 years ago

Lovely tandem by Muscat of Alexandria and Gewürtztraminer grapes.
Outstanding floral sweet nose, nice amber / emerald colour, silky delicious palate of Muscat.
Best served chilled down to 11oC. Perfect match to melon, avocado, cheeses and light ham.
Exceptionally delicate and fragrant. Absolute must-have for every wine lover's cellar — 9 years ago
Tart cherry on the nose, slightly underripe melon- grass, blue sky, meadow- this is summer. Designed to counterpoint roasted pork. Am I floating in a hot air balloon- basket style? Not fleeing Emerald City.... Dreamier. — 9 years ago
Had the 2008, it was so good! Ripe tannins, emerald color, very good length, still so much dark fruit. — 9 years ago
Unique showing from the Emerald State! Let this wine open up for at least 30 minutes to reveal subtle leather, gushy fruit, cigar box, vanilla, really like what it showed without dropping a bomb of tannins. Would like to get more and set aside. — 9 years ago
Emerald riesling and chenin blanc blend from the Carmel Winery in Israel. Fresh golden color, yellow on the rim with cotton and light aromatics on the nose. The palate is lively and full with bright acidity and stone fruits that are more plump than fresh. For a kosher wine, this is splendid. — 9 years ago
Great Israeli wine for a hot afternoon — 10 years ago
Had this at Emerald Isle — 10 years ago
Outstanding mature Clare Valley riesling; Bin 7; razor sharp softened acidity of limes, lime-flavoured fruit; emerald-green colour just fab; 12.5%; AUD 110 (UK source); Hardys pointed out the screw cap which preserved it so well; then discontinued when Constellation lost its way; 2005 to 2008 not made; now re-made by Accolade; 2013 sells for less than the 2004; first made 1967. — 10 years ago
Smooth and soft on the tongue. I could enjoy this by itself or with nice cheeses. — 12 years ago
Delicious light and full of flavour — 8 years ago
Just right after a full day of Emerald Isle fishing. Dark red, hints of dark fruit with vanilla. Great with filet mignon, portobello mushroom and plantain. Two old friends sealed the deal. — 9 years ago

Donskaya Chasha is one of my favorite whites made of Rkatsiteli grape.
Colour of straw with emerald glitters.
Unbelievably fantastic, complex nose with over-riped quince as main component, plus tarragon, dried apricots and lime.
Tasting it shows premature green apple and lime hints.
Long lingering acidic finish makes impression of apple/quince lollipop.
Distinctive, energizing wine. I never met anything alike before.
Paired with white mold and goat cheese varieties - worked fine. — 9 years ago
From back in the days when Pieroth used to buy up and bottle some amazing lots of wine from all over Germany and Eastern Europe (now they sing to a very different tune). This is simply one of the greatest sweet wines I've ever had. A blend of Traminer, Bouvier, and Neuburger grown under the influence of (the botrytis-paradise of) the Neusiedler See, in Burgendland, near the Hungarian border.
Despite an almost entirely disintegrated capsule this was in great shape. The wine is an amazingly virile gold, with streaks of shimmering emerald running through it by candlelight. It has gloriously tactile legs (think Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct) and an amazing purity of fruit. Lychee, with layers of Cape gooseberries, dragonfruit, mandarins, and hits of kumquats and, weirdly, fresh caper-berries. All of this bound together by an almost ebullient sweetness and box-knife acidity. This was bottle 3/5 from my cellar, all drunk over the last 3 months. I just can't help myself - I'll have to bury last two in the garden so they're not within arms' length I my drinking hand. — 9 years ago
I'm not a Chardonnay drinker but I loved this. — 9 years ago
Interesting to sip a Pouilly Fumé Cuvée Silice from one of the most trusted values in the region at such an age. While she's in the repose of her twilight years she's not merely a beauty of a bygone time but instead lively and lovely whose company rewards whoever has a chance afternoon with her. Who would ever credit Sauvignon Blanc even one of this crystalline emerald variety as a wine that might take an age in a cool cellar? 13 years! Even through the crazing crows' feet these eyes shine brightly and despite how cray paper skin drapes over the cheek bones of Sauvignon Blanc, this is still nimble and pulses with lives yet to live -not merely memories to regale its audience of how things once were, what she once was or could have been. Honeycomb, lemon curd, nettles wilting in grassy green olive oil, and then the lime leaves...so familiar and yet always exotic of distant shores and climates so far from this northern land of four resolute seasons. As to ratings: how can any of us quantify sensual pleasures really. This was a joy no matter how you cut it and yet given my surprise at Sauvignon Blanc at 13 years on still having so much to say I cannot speak highly enough. The Blanchets do it again! — 10 years ago
'09, the last year we had amazing grapes up here in the Emerald Triangle and this one proves it. Purchased in 2013 I had forgotten I had it. WOW!! Best I've ever had. Gio is simply amazing and continues to show he is, year after year. When back, and there it was! Couldn't believe the still had some...last bottle. Decisions, decisions. Gio is still outdoing himself. Amazing Olive Oil here too! A must if ever near "Dry Creek Valley" — 10 years ago
